So let me start of by saying I'm not one to normally leave a review. But I felt this could help out some lower budget, beginners like myself.
I have always wanted a nice entry DSLR to see if it was my cup of tea, and do to an upcoming obligation I needed a hobby to get myself through the next year while I am away from my toys. I decided this was the prime time to get into taking some pictures. Upon doing some research within my price range the Nikon D3500 seemed to fit the bill. Hopped on ol' Amazon and decided to start looking for a nice bundle at the best price. While perusing the listings, I discovered this refurbished package. Initially hesitant, I hit the add to cart button and purchased this kit.
Upon receiving the package in the mail, I opened it expecting to find something with a scratch or some wear. To my surprise I couldn't find the slightest mark on the camera, other than the two little pin marks on each side of the serial numbers as is standard for Nikon Refurbs. The camera and lenses came in a generic white box with a Nikon factory refurbished label on it, and included the Nikon 90 day warranty certificate inside. The camera, lenses and battery all function beautifully, definitely better than my photography skills.
The accessories are nice, not the highest quality but still nice for a beginner like myself.
Overall I am happy with my new purchase, and the seller as they have followed up in an email to ensure everything was right with my purchase!
I have attached some photos I snapped this morning in the Wichita Wildlife Refuge, again the camera is definitely better than my skill, and I am growing into it.
I really like the camera. Definitely recommend it to anyone who is thinking about buying it. I’m still trying to get used to it but that’s because I originally had a canon. Love the camera quality. When writing this review it had an option on star reviews for touch screen. Didnt notice it was a touch screen. But I think it’s a great camera and would be a great beginner camera too. Absolutely love it. If my photos don’t look clear i had posted them on fb and it changed the quality of it unfortunately.
Awesome camera. Good deal for refurbished. Disappointed that the shutter remote wouldn’t work out of the box and neither would the slave flash because the batteries were no good. Also, next to nothing came with instructions.
Over whelmed by all the goodies in the package. This will keep me busy for weeks to come. I am trying to learn DSLR photography and all the reviews said this is a great camera for the newby. It is a re-conditioned camera from Nikon, you cant see any blemishes. You can only tell by the warranty papers. Never tried Nikon camera before but tired of low quality pictures from my old camera. Nikon reputation is outstanding for their lens optics and cameras. I am extremely pleased with the camera and accessories so far. Please consider this system for your camera needs.
I've taken a few snaps and like the feel of the camera and the speed in focusing. My old dslr is over 10 years old, so there is a huge difference. So far, I am pleased, but the filters listed in the description were not in my package. That's a disappointment, since I like to keep a filter on my lenses to protect from dust and scratches. Having one right away would have been nice.
It's a great camera. I won't be able to give much technical advice because this is my first DSLR camera but I can tell quality when I see it and the images taken by this camera are excellent. The camera is light and battery life is ideal. I would recommend to anyone interested in getting into photography. All accessories came in the box, nothing was missing.
The camera was delivered promptly, safely and all of the advertised extras were present. The camera was refurbished (as advertised), but in 100% "as new" condition as far as I could tell. The only strange thing was that I got the manual for the D3400, as opposed to D3500. The two camera models are similar, and so the manual works for the most part, but it is obvious that there are some small feature differences. The camera has a great Macro feature built into it and I am not so sure that the Macro attachment will be so useful. However, it is early days yet. Despite the manual being for the wrong camera model, I am happy with this purchase, and I think it is a good bargain.
