Utmost, when it has came down to British blue-eyed soul, there has not been the strong and intimate strike we have had since the 80's. Acts like the great George Michael & Simply Red absolutely knew the strength, sophistication and songwriting that made those songs stand the test of time. Sam Smith is someone from this era that has taken that direction quite nicely in the beginning of his career with In The Lonely Hour & songs like Stay With Me and Not The Only One showed his heart and soul. I do wish I could've heard that from his second album, but sadly I didn't hear it. Sam Smith's latest single, Dancing With A Stranger, din't actually one of his better songs. The song in a way, falls similar to George Michael's duet with Mutya from 2006, This Is Not Real Love. But in other cases, the song could've been more intimate from Sam Smith, vocals & all. I am curious to hear what his 3rd album is going to be like. Hopefully, we'll hear something strong like what he had at the start.
