Can start a 1992 Camaro 305 V8.
January 6, 2019
I was skeptical with these small jump start batteries, and then I splurged for Christmas and bought myself one just for an emergency backup, and I have a few cars in storage that likely will have dead batteries when I need to move them.
Many folks have asked if it will start a V8, but gotten replies by some folks starting their 4 cylinder engines....
In 40 degree weather, it cranked over my 1992 305 with a little effort. I was amazed.
No newer high torque starter either - an original starter from 92.
As soon as I pushed the Boost button - the hood light intensified, and as my partner hit the starter, it cranked over. First time it didn't start (Fuel wasn't up to the injectors apparently), but it did run after the second try after sitting a few months.
After the second start attempt, I had 92% battery left, from 100% where I started.
It comes with all of the accessories, including a special high amp wall charger that connects via USB C.
The only thing I hate about this device - is the smell! It stinks like the material is not cured and it's still De-gassing.
Literally smells like chemicals - and you can smell it from 5 feet away.
I am going to try and leave it out in the open to get rid of the smell, but my particular battery has a very strong odor.
Specs not listed anywhere in the listing that I could find:
Battery Capacity: 20000mAh (73.2Wh)
Starting Current: 500A
Peak Current: 1500A (There's no way these little jumper cables will support anywhere near that)
