So you really should read the previous 5 books in the series first - they are funny and well-written, and describe in hilarious detail how Clarissa got to her current position as art teacher for magically gifted students at Womby's. She's had an interesting life so far, and I can say she has some VERY interesting adventures ahead. She is trying so hard not to take after her mother, the wickedest witch ever, while trying to stay out of the clutches of the Raven Court.
Things start out well for Clarissa. She's reunited with Derrick and life is good...until he disappears. She becomes obsessed with finding him again to the detriment of her job. She continues to make wrong assumptions and gets into a lot of trouble again. The twist at the end revealing who is draining teachers of their magic ultimately killing them was a surprise. Clarissa is nearly killed as well. Thatch to the rescue.
Well written sequel in the Womby's School for Wayward Witches. I love this book and series. Love is in the air at the magical at-risk boarding school. Unfortunately, it doesn't end well. Although, love can kill it can also bring back the dead with a touch of magic. A cliffhanger ending leading to the next book in the series. Some mature themes, still a YA book.
NOT A CHILDREN'S SERIES. I love this series, I stumbled upon it quite by accident and I haven't been able to stop reading. The accident prone Clarissa keeps everyone on their toes. But will she still have a position as Art Instructor at the end of term?
I am enjoying this entire series, eventhough this one is a bit darker in tone than the others. Clarissa learns some painful lessons, but really grows in this one. Reasons I enjoyed this book: great world-building, interesting characters, good plot.
Lots of action in this one. Clarissa runs around trying to figure out who's good and who's bad, but her instincts aren't always good, especially since she doesn't feel she can trust Thatch. Great plot and characters development.
Can Clarissa do anything right? Despite her best intentions things never turn out the way she wishes. Can she find Derrick? Is Thatch telling her the truth? Can a wish backfire? Read this story to find out.
I loved this paranormal mystery book. I couldn't put it down until I finished it. The characters were genuine and quirky. I found one sentence that the construction was backwards but otherwise it was wonderful. I recommend this book to everyone.
