I have been looking for a new laptop for a while but don't need all that much horsepower or fancy features. I basically blog, read, budget, and write. I don't edit videos or game on this laptop, so just a basic box. I tried a comparable Lenovo and was utterly disappointed in the construction and performance (cheap plastic shell, crappy keyboard, loud and incessant fan, etc). I basically went the Lenovo route to save $150 just on specs alone. Bad idea. This is much better. Comes with some adware to strip off, but really solid laptop and not too pricey. More than what I was looking to spend, but can't argue with the results.
LOVE my new HP!! It’s super fast, great to play or work on. Love that it has a touch screen, making it even more fun to use. I had a problem with my previous computer taking forever to open Excel, but this HP has my spreadsheets open in a matter of seconds. Very important to me. This week I’ll be hooking it up with another HP laptop to work from home, which will be the real test, but I’m not worried. I have total faith this HP will not let me down. Looking forward to hooking this HP to another to have dual screens (this one with a touch screen!).
I only give three stars on battery life because I have not had it long enough to make an intelligent opinion. The machine with a solid state drive boots quickly and efficiently. I do like that you can customize this unit with other drives and still keep your cd rom bay. Machine is light weight. The only other thing that I would have liked would have been a backlit keyboard.
