Dershowitz at his best...............
on July 19, 2018
Again, Professor Dershowitz is clear and concise in his wisdom. The opening section/chapter -- 'the case' in his words-- is the heart of the book and delves deeply into the entire question of criminalizing political behavior, and the wisdom of using, or avoiding, a Special Counsel conducting a criminal inquiry where, as he suggests, a Congressional Inquiry (via statute of Congress) would do for fact finding on a non-partisan basis. Once completed, from any such findings, a criminal proceeding (via a Special Counsel or just standard DOJ procedures via US Attorneys) can be considered. But, the initial effort in D's opinion is to just get the facts straight.........As Joe Friday used to say...."Just the facts, Ma'am". The extras after this section are wonderful.......reprints of his numerous writings/columns, transcripts of his TV/Cable appearances, and such.
Other than an occasional passage where he gets waist deep in legalisms, the book is a very comfortable read for the average citizen.
