I just got my fryer today and the first thing I tried was to fry eggs in a small pan .
I have the smaller Power Air Fryer XL and I like it fine - I thought this unit would work better . In the other fryer, I can put a couple of eggs in and it fries them up in 5 minutes - nice and toasted around the edges.
This unit didn't come close to cooking the eggs in 5 minutes and after a couple more minutes - the eggs were hard and rubbery and not browned or toasted at all - nasty !
I clicked the Amazon link to return and it looks like it is going to cost a bunch of money to return it . Probably close to $ 50 . WHAT A RIP OFF !
The smaller fryer heats up really fast and doesn't radiate or blow very much heat away - this unit blows A LOT of heat out the bottom and heats up the whole area - after several minutes it still was not heated to 350 degrees
A lot of wasted heat and takes forever to get to 400 degrees .

I am going to contact the company and complain - I shouldn't have to pay for a defective item that is not heating up properly on the first try -
If it can't even fry an egg then I know it won't work for anything else .

Bought 2 of the 8qt ones. One for me and one for my dad.
So I'm giving 2 reviews in 1!!

My dad said the smell of burnt plastic filed up the whole house. (My fault because i forgot to tell him to plug it in outside for the 1st time it's turned on). Just so everyone knows, the burnt plastic smell does go away. He said the recipe books didn't say how to get fries like they showed in the commercial! He tried fries several ways and he prefers them fried in a pan of oil. He doesn't like the basket, not sure why. But that is the most I've heard him complain about it.
I can tell you that he uses it all the time. He has rotisserie, baked, fried, and done different food (ya know nothing cooks at same temp or for same time) in it all at same time. He learned biscuits cook as fast in it as it does to make the packaged gravy. He told me, he almost didn't get the gravy done fast enough and almost burnt the biscuits. Btw I tried the meats hrs done several ways in his...its juicy and not dry (which is what I thought was going to happen).

Now for me. Havent used mine much, mostly cause i dont eat alot. Btw i did remember to put mine outside (on the covered back porch) when I 1st turned it on. I just ran it a few times and it was good to go. Also my door doesnt stay closed when not in use!! Not sure why, so i just use the tape it had on it from shipping. The 1st thing i did in it was cinnamon toast. Used wire rack and it came out like crutons! So next time I used the drip pan for cinnamon toast and it turned out much better. Still getting hang of temp and times, because it is different than the stove/oven but I'll get it. (Picture is of my cinnamon toast the 1st attempt! Lol) I've cooked other things in it and I'm still on a learning curve and I eat my mishaps. Lol

So why 4 stars? Well because if the French fries issue, and my door not staying closed when not in use. Hmm maybe it's trying to tell me to use it more and so it just opens?!! Lol Oh also for the recipe books not having French fries in them. (May seem like a stupid thing about the fries but not to my dad)

To be honest I wish these would have been out when I was in the military cause I would have used it then. It's great for singles, families and military personnel who cook in their rooms (doesnt break the rules of no open coils and it cooks in multiple ways!)

I love my new oven air fryer. What I like the most about is that I am cooking certain foods healthier and quicker. I haven’t had any issues with the fan not working properly. Sometimes it’s hard to get the shelves lined up correctly and that prevents the door from shutting.

Loving this product. Haven't used all it offers yet but more than happy with the results of the functions I have used so far. Easy to operate and the recipe books are great so looking forward to creating more yummy meals. A really good price for a really good product.

Was afraid buying the product based on 33pct negative feedback and 44pct positive. It's worked very well for me. Have used it twice daily for a week. Will change review if it breaks down in the first month

Dislike the terrible noxious odor it emits, but can't taste it on food.

The cookbook that comes with this is minimalist - not thrilled with that part. Have only used this for potatoes and to reheat. It's functional but not a miracle product.

Terrible machine, I've have a smaller black and decker for a year now and wanted to get a larger one so I saw this based off of a tv commerical. What a mistake it heats the house up takes 4 times longer to cook food and the add on parts are a joke lol. The cook books are a laugh as well . You can burn your hand on the sides as well .
