Horrible Chemical Junk!!!! Avoid - May Make You Seriously Sick!!!!
October 3, 2018
I can't believe their website looked so good on my phone I went to Amazon and ordered three different Vitacup Blends -After my family and a Doctor I work with tried them we Had to Throw them All away - over $70 wasted !!
This has literally been the worst purchase I've ever made on Amazon. Coffee or tea with vitamins - sounds good - went to their website even - looked normal - lots of stuff about how their helping babies - how they have vitamin B12 and B complex in it etc - so I figure I would try it - hoping maybe I would have just a little of the same feeling I get when I take B12. It arrived quickly enough and so I made three cups - one for my mother and one for my daughter and for me. We are not coffee snobs, but do know about coffee and love it and know what is good coffee, really good coffee, amazing coffee and junk. I was just expecting average to good coffee - not a proper perfect espresso shot, but also something resembling coffee that was at least as drinkable as Folgers instant.
This was WORSE than absolutely trash coffee. My mother grew up outside of Vienna and ran a pastry shop before and between us we have travelled to over 30 countries and this is literally THE WORST TASTING CHEMICAL JUNK I have ever had anyone call coffee. My mother was literally nauseated and felt sick for over three hours. My daughter fortunately refused to drink it after the first sip. Instead of the nice floaty energy feeling after B12 and coffee when you do take them together - this gives a weird buzzing sick feeling.
I felt bad having spent so much money on this junk - but then it gets worse! Over and Over again I get Emails that look like they are from AMAZON (that why I open them - because I think its something important for Amazon) asking me- even giving me guilt trips - for a nice review in exchange for a discount on the coffee! They word it such that you could easily get confused thinking this is Amazon making the request. As a busy mom I'm going to stores less and less and now buy 20-40 things a month on Amazon prime - it saves me time and is fun and convenient for me to window shop on amazon. Of all the hundreds of things I have bought I have never had more than a single junk mail soliciting reviews addressed to me for a product. Thats one of the reasons I buy on Amazon rather than the company sites directly - so I avoid getting on their spammy mailing lists. I checked with amazon and apparently they are supposed to only ask once for a review but have clearly been VIOLATING Amazon policies to solicit/ guilt trip these Fake reviews with pictures of starving babies by sending them somehow through Amazon!!
This coffee is horrible, they must be using the cheapest stale coffee or the vitamins just make it taste and smell like chemicals - the vitamin effect is nauseating - if anything, and the company spams you over and over begging for trading reviews for discounts.
I spoke with a doctor I work with - he tasted and smelled the coffee and told me that BPA is only one of hundreds of horrible chemicals in plastics. Most of the time you don't notice them and we are used them as they are stable at room temperature - BUT in a Keurig cup machine they are literally being heated to over 200 degrees and likely being pulled into the coffee. He also said the vitamins in the coffee taste and smell like Chemical derived or SYNTHETIC vitamins - the absolutely cheapest Chinese ones. He said if they were Organic vitamins made from Plants in the USA and mixed with Organic Coffee - It would say as it does on Healthy foods without pesticides or chemicals "USDA Certified Organic Coffee and USDA Certified Plant Derived Organic Vitamins". So I checked the company website and the box and the ad and he was right! Nowhere does it say these are Organic Naturally derived plant vitamins or that the coffee is natural and organic. I also found out that Kcups can be made with plant material - these are Compostible and all natural and more expensive to use or make but they definitely don't have plastics in them. The cups they are using are just plain old bpa free plastic - Not Plant derived / HEAT stabilized Compostible kcups. So you are paying $1.50 a cup for the cheapest coffee, cheapest vitamins and cheapest cup!!
After realizing just how badly they were misleading people claiming this is tested healthy coffee - I started thinking why did I fall for it - Maybe it was the charity connection? Just to see if maybe this was also a lie I looked into the charity they were supposedly supporting. VitaminAngels.org Right there on the first page is a link to Corporate Sponsors -it has a list of all of the companies that they are partnered with and have supported them. There are over 40 companies including vitamin companies - but not Vitacup!!!!
If it sounds to good to be true - it usually is. This coffee doesn't uplift you, or give you the same vitamins you get from natural food. It tastes horrible, uses unknown plastics that appear to be leaching into the coffee, uses unknown synthetic vitamins - likely from China, and just might make you sick for 3 hours like my mom. The random lady on the website who is formulating these chemical nightmares is not even a MD (Medical Doctor) or PhD (Scientist) of any kind!!!
For the Sake of Your Own Children - Don't let the starving Babies Pictures fool you (Apparently that Partnership is Fake as well) - STAY AWAY!!!!!
