Jordan Peterson Controversial For More Than The Apparent Reasons
on September 10, 2018
Four stars because it's a good companion guide by a writer other than the book's author, but the author is not what he appears to be.
I bought the book but when it arrived, turns out I bought a companion study guide that I disappointingly read in less than an hour. However, it was providential. I noticed that he referred to the Genesis creation account frequently and in such a way that made me wonder if he's a Christian. Couldn't be further from it.
There is so much Darwinian evolution and Hegelian dialectic interwoven with the creation account that it begs the question why would an atheist who comes off as a deist even use the Bible in pretty good context? Probably the dialectic. He also contradicts himself quite blatantly when he asserts living a meaningful but not expedient life. If you analyze more deeply, his philosophy is all about expedience bc his goal as far as I can tell is survival of the fittest.
My ultimate complaint is that though I appreciate his calling out liberals for blaming others all the time, one cannot fight Deism or Atheism with more Deism or atheism.
