This Schick Hydro Sense Hydrate Razor Doesn't Cut My Flesh, But It Won't Cut My Facial Hair Either!
on April 12, 2018
I've been faithfully using my Gillette Trac II Plus razor all of my life without any issues. However, I've always been searching for an adequate alternative in case this product was completely removed from the store shelves. I hope this never happens because my search for a better razor still continues. I tried unsuccessfully for several years to use different brands of electric razors. Unfortunately, they dried my skin. I grew tired of buying expensive facial lotions and being asked by my friends why my face was so red. Always, I would return to my Gillette Trac II Plus razor.
I leapt at the opportunity to try the Schick Hydro Sense Hydrate Razor for Men. The kit that I received in the mail included one handle and two razor blade cartridges. One of the cartridges was already installed on the handle. Each cartridge is very huge; it consists of one flip back trimmer and five pre-lubricated blades. Despite the lubrication, I still had to use shaving cream in an attempt to obtain a close shave. The cartridges are a little tricky to put on but, after some practice, I became quite accomplished.
As I stated earlier, each cartridge is huge, too huge. I can't obtain a close shave, especially around the corners of my mouth. I kept the flip back trimmer disabled. This helped but I still couldn't obtain a close shave no matter how hard I pressed down on the cartridge. Fortunately, I never cut myself. The product kept its promise about that. However, I couldn't get a close shave either. I have cut myself a few times with my trusty, dependable Gillette Trac II Plus razor. However, for the most part, I have always obtained a close shave with it.
In fact, my Gillette Trac II Plus razor always gives me a closer shave than the Schick Hydro Sense Hydrate Razor. The Schick cartridge becomes dull very fast. I couldn't even get one good week out of one cartridge. (These cartridges are very expensive and one should obtain good shaves from them for at least a week.) A Gillette Tract II Plus cartridge that has been used for several weeks or longer provides a closer shave.
The only good things that I liked about the Schick razor is that its ergonomic handle was easy to grip and its blades never cut my face. They wouldn't cut my hair either. My skin began to grow red and irritated from constantly pressing too hard. I began to feel that I was using one of my old electric shavers that I eventually had to toss out. I cannot recommend the new Schick Hydro Sense Hydrate Razors for Men with Shock Absorbent Technology. I will remain with my Gillette II Plus razor until something better comes along.
