I had been using an electric unit that vacuumed the bag and heat sealed the bag when done. It did not work with wet food or marinades.
This little hand held vacuum works great wet or dry.

I wanted bags I could use in the freezer and sous vide, so I got this set. I haven't had all the issues others have complained about. I put the meat in, seal, and use the pump to get out the air. It wraps around the meat and I haven't had freezer burn in the stuff that's been in there for 2 months now. I didn't have any leaks using in my sous vide either, and I full submerged the bags. The clips work great to hold to the side or to the rack I use in my sous vide to hold a variety of bags without them touching. I don't use the white bag closer clips, I haven't found a need, but I guess if you struggled to get a good seal, they'd be helpful. And the other thing I *think* is for wine, I haven't opened a bottle to try it. The biggest thing is to ensure you clean the vacuum out well, I have a brush that fits and it works great when liquid gets in it. And the bags easily wash, I turn them inside out and hand wash in super hot water, plus I label the bag and try to reuse for similar things, although I haven't tasted anything left from the last batch.e

When you don't always want to bring out the big Food Saver vacuum sealer, this little pocket gem is useful. I got it for a few reasons, convincing a friend that vacuum sealing is easy & smart is the main one; but also the convenience, ease & reuse of the zip style bags. Often I wouldn't seal something, because you need to cut off the top of the bag to open it, & the bag gets smaller & smaller. Kind of a waste really. With this hand held, & those specific bags (& containers), you can keep something fresh & save a little more.

Top quality cork screw for those who want something a bit out of the ordinary. Regretted not purchasing one a few years back while in Europe and was pleasantly surprised to find them listed on Amazon. Shows top craftsmanship and on top of that works well--does the wine taste better? Don't know but makes for good conversation with your wine drinking friends and you only live once so why not the best. My son-in-law wants to have it some day--yes, but over my dead body.

Absolutely cannot get enough of these bags, I’m actually placing another order for myself and my sister. They work incredibly well, takes all the extra air out of the bag and keeps things fresher for longer. I have had a pack of blueberries in the bag for a week and they are still fresh looking and not at all gross looking. I highly recommend these to anyone who buys in bulk especially. these will save you so much money!

The box clearly states "Do not submerge the vacuum bag in water." Obviously not useful for sous vide cooking! It may be a language issue, but I'm not sure I would trust the plastic used either now. My next purchase will be for an American-made plastic bag that can be submerged in the sous vide water bath without any warnings.

A lot of people have mentioned in the comments this is a pretty corroding thing to use and the instructions are nowhere to be found. Figured out how to suction out the air from the bags and it took me a little bit of time to figure out what that other piece was for which apparently is for a wine bottle and I'm still not a hundred percent how these are actually reusable.

I'm pretty new to Sous Vide cooking. But these bags are good. Plenty of them and the bags w/ the clips and pump don't take up a lot of storage room. . I know you can use ziplocks for many things, sometimes you need to take out as much air as possible so the bag conforms better like for salmon or scallops, which is when these will come in handy. So far so good.

These work great! I always buy meat in bulk and freeze it in parchment paper, which the cost can add up for the paper. Soni decided to get these. I am very happy with them! I cooked sous vide eggs this morning and the bags worked wonderfully! Great price point!
