Good, flawed, and hackable
December 14, 2018
First, the good: this case is super sturdy, the slots for the various components are well sized, and over all the product was well designed and well through through.
The bad: as others have noted, this case is not deep enough. When loaded and zipped closed, the lid presses on the shoulder buttons of any controllers. I don't think this is likely to be a huge problem for transporting the controllers. The buttons will depress, the controllers will attempt the pairing process, and then they'll go back to sleep as long as the buttons are not released and pressed again. However, I'm using this as permanent storage for my switch paraphernalia, and if I'm playing in handheld mode and the lid gets jostled, any number of controllers will attempt to pair which can greatly interfere with whatever game I'm playing at the moment. Whether this is a problem for you or not will vary on your use.
That being said, in the space of a couple hours I was able to hack the insert such that I can store the controllers head-down, and elevated so that the shoulder buttons are not depressed when opening and closing the lid. This has the added benefit of being able to see the leds on the pro controllers, so that if one gets paired I can tell which one quickly and easily.
So a few caveats and warnings, but generally I would recommend this product.
