Don't buy until you see whose towers your TracFone service is with
on February 11, 2018
Ordered and received this phone after an unsuccessful go around with a supposedly "GSM Unlocked" phone from another seller, which ultimately unlocked at all and was summarily returned. As I have TracFone service, I went ahead and ordered this new phone, only to discover upon arrival that it is locked to Verizon towers through TracFone, and couldn't be used in my area as I am on the AT&T network through TracFone, so back it went also. My advice to anyone purchasing any phone from TracFone, whether online or from a retail outlet, is to contact them first to determine which carrier your TracFone service is through (AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon) before buying the phone (or any phone, for that matter), and I also suggest that you have the phone name, model, & eisn number to give them to determine the carrier since TracFone, for some inexplicable reason, does not see fit to provide that information anywhere on the phone packaging. I, after purchasing a second "GSM unlocked" phone that wasn't, finally bought a nice new truly unlocked phone from Amazon Warehouse Deals which works perfectly, has all the features I wanted, and was at an extremely good price. Persistence pays off.
