I appreciate the height--and I would have appreciated it even more if this thing came assembled. Granted, it is not brain surgery but I just found it laughable that they include a tiny weenie screwdriver the size of a pigeon penis for you to assemble the thing (see picture). I am sure it will do the job just as fine as any other bbq chimney. Admittedly, I was too lazy to get off of my arse to go to Walmart or Ace and get a regular chimney for half the price. I dig the black finish--as I look at it glistening on my desk shortly after arrival. I have however just read a review that states it melts as soon as it heats up in the fire. So much for that. The eco-friendly claims are comical and I am surprised they didn't include "sustainable" or "gluten-free" in the description! As I said before, no biggie. Oh yes, one more thing....don't touch the metal bucket until it cools down to avoid burning!

It's got a decent size and heats up charcoal as quick as any other basic chimney, but the negative here is they shouldn't have even bothered to coat it black unless the owner never plans on using it... first use melted the enamel right off the center... second use spread it even more... now it's like an Oreo Cookie chimney. They should just keep it chrome or give it a more professional paint job the way Weber coats their grills. Black simple doesn't stay black for more then 10 minutes.

I’ve had it for 10 years and it still works? No. I’ve had it for less than a year and it looks like it’s about to fall apart. Rusting quite nicely among other things.

Works well for lighting charcoal. Works as well as the more expensive models.

I have never had to put together a chimney starter in all my years of grilling. There is only one screw holding on the two parts. In reading the other reviews after purchasing this item i found out that the paint all burns off the first time you use it. I thought the black coating was there so it would last longer, but i guess that’s not the case.
