I have an 8 year old cat who is very chill about his litter. He will use the litterbox with almost any kind of litter in it. But I want good litter that clumps well and masks odors - and isn't too dusty since I am allergic to dust. I have purchased Arm & Hammer Double Duty Litter before and was happy with it so I ordered some from Amazon. I knew the first time I poured it into the litter box that it wasn't the same as the stuff I bought at the store. It has big rocky chunks of litter rather than the sandy stuff and looks much darker.

It does smell good (even a bit strong on the fragrance) and it isn't enormously dusty. But it does a horrible job clumping. There are wet spots on the litter and the clumps are tiny. In all the time I have been using this box of litter, I have not seen any feces in the box, clumped or not. I have NO idea where my cat is going. He does go outside at times but it's pretty hard to believe that he never has to poop when he is inside. He always uses his box for that.

The clumps are so small that they cannot be poop so...it's a mystery. I won't buy this, at least not from Amazon, again. It's really not good at doing its job of clumping neatly and staying dry and clean. I remove the clumps everyday and yet the litter still looks dirty and is wet. I'm going to buy a different brand when this stuff is gone - or even before it is gone. It is disappointing.

I usually buy the Arm & Hammer Super Scoop Clumping Litter, Unscented, and purchased this because it was a bigger box. Little did I know that it is not the sandy type of litter. My cats are pissed off. They will not use anything unless it is sandy, and this is more like the old type of clay cat litter. I didn't realize Arm & Hammer sold this kind. I bought 2 boxes and it's too heavy to return, so I don't know what to do with it. Probably donate it.
Also, it's mushy to try to scoop out stuff. It's the worst crap I've seen in a cat litter. Literally.

If one can love cat litter (OMG!) this one is excellent. I just wrote a mean spirited (but true) review of Tidy Kats litter with so called "odor block". After being nauseated by the foul odors it produced, I Googled the question "Which litter is the least smelling ?" and got this name ARM & HAMMER DOUBLE DUTY LITTER. Well
it is indeed terrific! Compared to the other, there is no obnoxious, heinous odor, no dust and no artificial, probably toxic ,chemicals added to try and mask the smell which didn't doesn't work and makes it more nauseating..

Perfect. I threw away previous kitty litter, and then poured this product into the litter box. I went to the litter box the next day and noticed that this product stopped all urine and feces odor and I was able to remove all feces and urine. Litter box stayed smelling nice. Reordered this box again. Staying with what works.

I have tried all different litters in the past, cheap ones expensive ones whatever I can find. I love this product because it really holds its truth as being clumping, which is nice and an oder eliminator. I clean the litter boxes once a day and I never have issues with the house smelling. I have two cats and two different litter boxes within 1400 square feet and it smells nice. It is a very big size and will fill a litter box about 7-8 times. I clean the litter box daily, but only change the litter once a week so this will last me about a month. Great product, great size, great price, and great smell!!

This litter was big gravel type clumping, my cat did not want to use it, until I mixed it with same brand litter but more sandlike (can not remember name)....
Both litter types clump excellent & handle smell great.. it's great litter for bigger cats :)

We've been using this for our cats for a few years now. It works pretty well, so we've not ventured to try anything else. It clumps fairly well and masks the odor well. We keep a litter tracking mat outside of the boxes and haven't had issues to worry about it being tracked all over the apartment. My only complaint is that sometimes when you scoop, the clumps do fall apart. It's frustrating when it happens, but it doesn't happen often enough to warrant switching brands.

I just ordered for the first time from Amazon (we used to get it through a wholesale club but gave up the membership) and thought it was great to have it delivered right to our door. The box design is different from the picture (and the picture that's been on there since we started buying this) and says it's a new design. So I hope it's a legit Arm & Hammer product, and not a knock off (some reviews sound like some people have been getting a different quality from Amazon than is sold in stores). I'll update once I open and use them.

This litter is really good in almost every way. It does not throw off a lot of dust when you pour it into the pan. It smells good and our cats seem to like it just fine. I also love being able to order this on Amazon because it is cheaper than our local big box store and it gets delivered to our front door. That's pretty awesome. I have lugged many a container of heavy cat litter from the store to the car to our basement and it gets old pretty quickly.

So my only real beef with this litter is that it doesn't really clump quite as well as other brands I have used. To be fair it DOES clump pretty well, but sometimes when I go to scoop it out, the areas where our cats have peed doesn't stick together very well. I can still get it out, but with other brands the clumps are dry and tight and come out of the surrounding litter very easily. These clumps have to be treated gently and if I scoop too roughly they break up and are harder to extricate.

It's not a disaster, and since this was so cheap and delivered to my door, I can deal with it. But if you need litter that clumps very well and is as easy as possible to scoop then you might want to shop around. If you don't mind that detail too much, then this is just fine and if you can get it for a good price on Amazon, go for it.

I've been using Arm & Hammer litters for years (perhaps even the life of my cat - 10 years). I find that they clump better and more consistently than others that I've tried or litters I've seen in friends homes when I cat-sit. There is a very strong fragrance but it doesn't bother me or my two cats.

I cannot believe you can get these shipped for free on Amazon. No one tell them this is losing them money. I can't imagine how much it cost to ship these. But as long as you're willing to drop it at my front door rather than me having to go to the store and lug it around, I'm SOLD! I buy these 3 at a time on here. I'm having to give my mail carrier a gift this Christmas for all the back breaking work!
