This is the first book that I have read by Paige Dearth. I was sent some titles of books I may have been interested in, and this one caught my attention. Right away I was drawn into the book and everything little Tony was going through. I liked every page of the book and the majority of the characters, I cried along with Tony over the death of one of them. It is a great book, well written and I would recommend it to my friends who like thrillers. That is what I thought it was, a thrill a page. Very Well Done!

This book was so captivating. I could not put it down. What an eye opener to what happens to young kids on the street. It is real sad to hear all the stuff mean people and kids do to them. It breaks my heart. I cried in some of chapters. My heart broke for Tony.

Another awesome book by Paige!

This was a really good read. Like all the other Paige Dearth books, it is a little hard to get past what some ppl do to these kids, but the story is eye-opening. It made me appreciate the life i have lived even more. I kept finding myself shocked at what was being done to him throughout his life, and how he managed to go on. It is a really good read. Paige Dearth has done it again.

A must read for anyone who’s ever wondered how a person could become a ruthless killer. The main individual of this book will have you riveted, not wanting to put the book down until you’ve finished it. The treatment this individual suffered at the hands of those that were supposed to protect him will have you shaking. An amazing but very sad story.

This was horrible! Seems to have been written by a teenager. So predictable, very poorly written, phrases used over and over and over again. All of the "ya", "cha", "yas", etc. were ridiculous. I'm not sure I have ever given a book one star. This deserves zero stars. SO glad I'm done with it.

This book had 100+chapters & usually after about 20 I lose interest but this book kept you interest from the first word. A real page turner. Enjoy!

I had such mixed emotions reading this book. My heart broke for little Tony but he was so messed up as a child that even when he thought he found happiness as an adult, he was still messed up. This story will haunt me for a long time to come. I'm glad I read it.

I loved this book. It was dark and raw but reels you in quickly and doesn’t let go. I read late into the night and even woke up early in the morning to pick up where I left off. Tony’s childhood was heart wrenching and painful to read. It will have you in tears and wanting to reach out to him, take him in, wrap your arms around him as tightly as possible, love on him and let him know he matters. I not only shed tears, I sobbed and wanted to wail out loud right along with him. Read it!!! You won’t be disappointed.

A realistic, fictional telling of the pervasive viciousness which the lives of children and adults lead in the poor neighborhoods of Philadelphia. The story follows the life of Tony ‘s unfortunate childhood and his rise to a mafia mobster.

I loved this story. It is not for the faint of heart as really bad things happen. The author makes you feel and understand the things that happen. The characters are real and I miss them already!
