The product was easily ordered and quickly received. Unfortunately the product did not fit correctly. The product description stated... "Fits: SAMSUNG DA29-00020B, DA29-00020A, DA2900020A, DA2900020B, DA-97-08006A, DA-97-08006A-B, DA-97-08006B, DA29-00019A, DA2900019A, DA97-08006A-B, Wss-2, WF294, AQUA FRESH WF-294, WATER SENTINEL WSS-2, HAF-CIN, HAF-CIN-EXP, HAF-CINEXP, HAFCIN." After I installed the product, I discovered a water leak coming from the filter and filter receptacle. I decided to install an OEM filter before changing the filter receptacle. The OEM filter did not leak after install. Working as advertised. There is a distinct difference between the Pureline filter and the OEM filter. See photo.

I found this filter when looking for an alternative to the high priced OEM filters. I received this one, installed it and went thru the same procedure I use for OEM filters. (Run 1gallon of water thru them). I'm glad I did because the first 3 cups of water were a black/grey color. After that the color retuned to crystal clear and perfect.

These Filters may work on other refrigerator models, but not the Samsung fridges that use DA29-00020B. It may seem to fit at first, but upon going into the kitchen the next day, there was water all over and looking in the refrigerator there was a constant drip of water coming from the filter and the connection.

When I compared the two filters (Pure Line and the Samsung), you can visually see that the opening for the Pure Line is 3x larger than the Samsung one. As mentioned before, this could work with other refrigerator models, just not my Samsung one.

I purchased these as a replacement for the overly expensive Samsung brand filters. I had used Home Depot brand filters in the past with good success, but they were out of stock, so I thought these should be a safe bet. I installed the filter one evening and the next morning the tray under the filter was half filled with water. I removed this one and installed the second filter. Next morning, same results. Back to Home Depot to purchase the Samsung brand filter, but, before installing I decided to take some measurements. I measured the outside diameter of the "O" rings with a micrometer and got the following results:
Samsung - 1.100"
Pureline #1 - 1.089"
Pureline #2 - 1.083"
As you can see, the Pureline filter seals were between 11 and 17 thousandths of an inch undersized which explains the leakage. If I had the time and inclination I possibly could have found some domestic "O" ring replacements that would have provided a satisfactory seal but it was much easier to just return them. I note from reading the results that some people got good results from these filters but that certainly was not my case.

My biggest concern is that I don't trust off-brand replacements from China... I find if it's from China--unless it's a brand name; its junk and not worth the savings. More often than not, you get what you pay for.

However-- these don't seem bad. I was replacing a Samsung DA29-00020B.

1) they fit. It was considerably tighter than the Samsung cartridges though... had to shove the filter in to the port with much more force than previously before I could turn the cartridge to lock it in. But it's in, and no leaks. Wondering why they don't fit better than they do, though.

2) they say they are ANSI 42 rated (aesthetic... taste, smell) and 372 rated (lead contaminants) ... and the wording is odd around the ratings which is also why I don't trust these as much as I might. But the original Samsung cartridge says it was also ANSI 53 rated (heavy metals and organic related to health effects)... so as far as I can tell, these are probably considerably lesser quality filters than the originals. So then, are these a good deal after all? Hard to say. My guess is no.

We live in a rural area, our water comes from a well... our property doesn't border a farm, and we are on a hillside so our water table should be pretty clean... who knows if I need the highest quality filter. But I don't know if I would pick these filters if I was on public water or questioned my water straight from the tap.

I have very hard water here in the Las Vegas Valley. These filters make my water taste as good as the Samsung branded ones. They are great. I have not had any leaks. They are still high flow and my water flows at the same speed as with the factory filter.
Great filter, great value at less than half of the cost.

Ordered for my four-year-old Samsung RF4287HA.

I thought I'd save money compared to buying the expensive Samsung filters I've used in the past. Mistake.

Two issues:

1) Filter seated well and seemed to work but leaked overnight causing a puddle on the kitchen floor. Re-seated filter several times but it continued to leak. Replaced with an expensive OEM Samsung filter, no leak.

2) The inside of my fridge is bright white as is the expensive Samsung filter. The Pureline filter is an off-white, kind of like slightly yellowed old plastic. In my white fridge, the visible end of the filter is noticeably not white. The replacement OEM Samsung filter is perfectly white.

I wasn't happy about the off-white color but the filter leaking is unacceptable so the filter was returned. I REALLY like to save money but, I'll stick with OEM Samsung filters from now on.

These filters were purchased for our Samsung refrigerator that requires the DA29-00020B filter. The first filter of the 3 pack we just bought started leaking 8 days after installation, flooding the lower refrigerator and started filling up the bottom door freezer. Luckily for us we noticed the water running down into the freezer it before it started to spill out into the kitchen. We installed the 2nd filter hoping the first was just a defective part and just replaced the 2nd filter this evening, 5 days later. It was leaking just like the first filter, not massive amounts but a slow leak that unchecked would have flooded the whole refrigerator again. We have installed the 3rd filter which is holding for now but have also ordered Samsung OEM replacements and will not try "compatible" replacements ever again. It's very apparent when the comparing the mating features of the OEM filter and this replacement, there's a enough of a difference that makes this filter a less than ideal replacement for the DA29-00020B. If they work for you, great, but for our Samsung refrigerator, it was a waste of money.

We bought this filter model to replace our Samsung French-Door Fridge's water filter which uses filters compatible with Samsung filter model DA29-00020B. In reality, as the photo of the box shows, there are a great many filter model numbers and makes that are all really the same.

We went with aftermarket filters simply because a Samsung 2-pack is over $110. We bought this 2-pack for less than 1/3 that cost. Our previous aftermarket filters were made by Aqua Fresh and were very happy with them but no longer seem to be listed. This alternative looked the same and worked just as well as the Samsung and Aqua Fresh units. It installed very easily, fit perfectly, and didn't leak.

After running the requisite 3+ gallons of water through the filter to flush out any renegade charcoal sediment, we tasted it. It tasted just the same as if it came straight form our well but without sediment or various tasteless impurities that most osmotic charcoal filters remove.

If nothing changes - no leaks and such - we're sure to order again. All-in-all, a great buy. I've attached a photo of the the box, installed date stickers and a magnetic install date badge they include for the side of the fridge - a nice tiny extra.

Regarding the many comments about leaky filters of this type, I suspect at least some of them may be do to a little confusion over how they need to be tightened when installed. Simply put, the installation of these filter types can be misleading. When inserting them into their receptacle, you turn clockwise quite a ways and they then "seem" to be fully seated and tight. HOWEVER, they have to be turned another 30-45 degrees after that first friction point to reach full lock position. On the Samsung French Door models, at least, a fully seated and locked filter will have the install handle perfectly vertical. I'm not saying that all leaky filters reports aren't due to faulty filters - but some of those reports may be due to the issue I just outlined.

Enjoy.
