Smaller capacity than others. I have the Weber with side holes (with larger capacity) and if your not using the little plastic fan the Weber with holes is much better.
I can not attest to using with the fan but after reading other reviews I am not going to be going that route. Will keep for smaller batches of charcoal.

Save your money. It's not any faster than a regular chimney. And after first time using it the side seemed like it started to melt. My coals did not bur up any faster. See pictures

The design works really well and does get the coals going faster, usually 15 min if I stoke the fire a little in the beginning. the elbow makes it easier to add some fuel to get it going faster and for manual blowing of the coals to push it along. The down side is that the elbow piece is black, but the paint has nearly completely come off on the inside and is starting to flake on the outside. the upper portion of the outside and inside walls (everywhere the coals touch) is now getting surface rust after every use. The grate at the bottom is rusting and looks like its not going to last that long. As a whole the unit is solid and works great, but now I have to clean it up and then paint it with proper ultra high temp paint to keep it in good condition. No idea about the grate at the bottom though.

Looks like a pretty nice product but the wire grate wasn't installed in China correctly the middle ear on the wire wasn't sticking through the proper hole in the chimney .
Also I assumed the chimney was the same size as a weber chimney it's not!
Going to try it for the first time tomorrow see if it works in conjunction with the fan as well as they say. Mine wasn't put together correctly two out of the three tabs are in the correct holes!

Rather deceiving as it does not come with the fan which supposedly would make it faster to start. It was much smaller and more expensive than the large Weber counterpart - more like the compact Weber in size. This was not evident in the photos and description.

I will say the chimney was VERY well constructed. However, I returned it as I did not feel the added quality of construction was worth the difference in price.

Also got 4 emails requesting this review. Rather annoying.

Lives up to the hype. I was low on newspaper, so i used a handful of wood shavings and a small piece of paper. This thing took off without a problem. I don't have their BBQ dragon, so the second time I used it I set a small fan near the port to see how much difference it makes. It had the coals flaming and ready within just a few minutes. I think I'll be looking at the dragon next, just for cordless convenience.

This is my first chimney starter and i LOVE it. You would need to get BBQ Dragon Charcoal Starter and Fire Lighter for Barbecue Grills, Fire Pits, Camping, and Fireplaces - Battery-powered Bellows to go with it (also on Amazon). I do suggest Lighter cubes and a utility lighter. The cubes you can put in the middle of the tray, add charcoal and with the utility lighter it is easy to start then put the BBQ Dragon fan in and just wait a few mins.

If you don't have the cubes you can use a paper towel with vegetable oil on it and then the charcoals.

Finally got a chance to dry this out and I’m super happy with the outcome. I use lump charcoal, which is a little difficult to get lit sometimes. Unlike my other chimneys, which may take a couple of attempts, this chimney had my fire blazing in no time. Great product that I would highly recommend.

When received, the chimney was out of round. I was expecting a much thicker material that would not flex as much. I like the idea of a side-loading fuel pipe. Capacity seems smaller than other comparable chimneys. When compared to a Weber chimney, I am not sure the value is here.

Still, you get a cool dragon on the side. Maybe BBQ dragon could create a small cutout in the shape of flames in front of the dragon's mouth that would glow when coals are lit.

actually seems to work! I have 2 other chimneys 1 larger and 1 smaller and was looking for something in between so decided to try this dragon out.I thought the 'elbo' was a little gimickey and only useful for the dragon blower but it does really seem to work . This chimney gets roaring hot with flames above the coals after just a short while and i do not own the blower.Must really be 'insane' with the blower but the blower is a little pricey for something they advise to use for 'no more than 3 minutes'
