First off, no this is not a C2 Rower. But you are not on this page to buy a C2, you want a cheap alternative. I think this is a very close second for half the price. I will say, the resistance does not quite get to that of a C2 on the highest setting but you can feel it. If you move fast and hard enough on this thing you will get a similar workout. The best part of this is the seat and the screen. I am 5'9 185 with a big ol butt and this seat is comfortable for the longer rows. The screen is great as it gives everything you want, including the very important pace per 500m. One con - The calories dont seem to match what the C2 will say. Usually I do 1 calorie per pull but on this it is about half of that. So if you use calories as a workout driver, I would row for half the calories on this. The positive that outweighs this negative is that the Cust Service is awesome. I had the screen not work anymore after about 2 months and they replaced it immediately no questions asked. Great Rower and great company!
This is a good looking medium quality rower. I previously owned a concept one And never should've sold. The issue with this one is that only four of the six bolt holes that hold the main drive unit lined up with the frame. The other two holes were not drilled through the frame so with those had to be left off. Rover also has a fairly noisy sliding seat. It clunks as it moves. The flywheel action is smooth and fairly quiet and the computer is good.
First time buying a rower, so I did a lot of research and, in the end, had to take a shot in the dark. No matter which rower you look at there just as many bad reviews as there are good ones. This particular rower had the right features at the right price so I rolled the dice. I ordered it on Thursday and it was delivered Friday afternoon - simply outstanding. Once I got it out of the box, assembly was pretty straight forward and relatively easy. Took about 45 min in total. Unfortunately, the assembly did not go without incident. The very first step requires you to remove 3 bolts so you can use them to attach the front legs. Mine only came with three. Then, when I went to attach the monitor, I couldn't find the necessary bolts. Seems the plastic casing had taken a hit during transit and caused it to shift, thus covering up some of the necessary bolts. I had to just about take the casing apart to get to what I needed. Once I gained access to the bolts, putting the monitor in place was easy. All that aside, I love this rower and it works great. If your looking to add a rower to your fitness routine, this would be a nice way to start. It isn't as expensive as many of the other rowers but offers many of the same benefits and features.
