Be aware of fillers in an otherwise good product for healthy dogs
November 13, 2018
I am updating my initial stellar review because stupid me had a look at the ingredients of this product online - not on the Amazon product page and was surprised to find fillers that I do not want my dog to eat since tumors love sugar and carbohydrates. My dog developed a second tumor inside 6 months, this time not benign and I am fighting to keep him alive.
These are this products ingredients:
"Coconut Oil, Organic Turmeric, Qmin+™ Curcumin, BioPerine®, Pea Flour, Palm Fruit Oil, Tapioca Flour, Natural Duck Flavoring, Flaxseed Meal, Sunflower Lecithin, Coconut Glycerin, Powdered Cellulose, Rosemary Extract (Natural Preservative), Mixed Tocopherols, Sorbic Acid (Natural Preservative)."
Dogs with cancers do better on ketogenic diet and as a result I will be cooking a turmeric/coconut oil/black pepper supplement that has no additional fillers to try and keep him alive.
This is my little Cairn terrier’s spleen and the enormous tumor that was attached to it (one of two). My dog is 12 and had surgery 2 weeks ago (10/31/2018) . The very good news is that the tumors turned out to be benign and his liver is free if cancer. He is recovering at an accelerated rate. My dog was exposed to a lot of chemicals during the Sonoma fires a year ago but I will never know what caused these tumors. i feed him carefully and he had a health lifestyle. What I think may have prevented this from being a catastrophic cancer diagnostic and has been helping his ability to recover is this Zesty Paws Curcumin Turmeric which is the only supplement he has received for almost 2 years. I specifically picked this supplement because turmeric and curcumin have anti-cancer properties. I am glad I did.
