I read this a few decades ago. It was good to read it again. The book mostly speaks to the heart of the Christian worker, lay and clergy, but it does offer some timeless insight into church growth methodology as well. Spurgeon "being dead, yet speaketh, offering much needed rebuke and encouragement to the modern minister.
This book is a must read. I brought it originally as a E-book but I'm buying this in an actual book form as I find that this is a invaluable resource to have and I plan on reading it again. Spurgeon speaks truth boldly and unashamedly. I found this to be of such encouragement and found within its pages ideas to implement, things to ponder, rebuke where needed. Truly found that this is a book about the heartbeat behind evangelism.
This book speaks to the Church of today about the value of soul winning, which is something that has been lost in today's materialistic world. Reading Spurgeon will help you regain that focus and store up treasure in heaven.
Charles Spurgeon lays a good foundation to encourage us to become soul winners, which the Bible commands. It’s written from the pastor’s perspective for other pastors, but all Christians should get much from it. I found it to be helpful, informative, and uplifting.
A book that reminds and teaches us how to be soul winners for Christ and how to bring others to him by his word and by being a good example among other things. It is insightful and forces a degree of introspection
Key Charles Spurgeon work on sharing the gospel and the importance of meaningful discipleship. Amazing that compiled works from 150 years ago sound exactly like they are speaking directly to many churches in today's culture. Truly imressive.
