I was tired if paying for those overpriced Samsung filters, so I wanted to try a cheaper alternative, but I also wanted to be sure that it filtrated similar to the OEM. When I bought this filter I also purchased a PPM meter to verify how this lower cost alternative did when compared to the Samsung. Though I didn't get chance to test a new Samsung filter, but my 6 month old Samsung filter was showing a PPM reading of about 47. My tap water had a baseline test of about 55 PPM, so it's pretty clean where I live. So I put in my Mist filter. Before running a gallon of water through it to clean it, the readings were high, about in the 80s. I already expected this since all filters needs water to run through it to flush it out. After about 1 gallon of water, the PPM readings dropped to about 52-55. This was close to my original tap water readings. At this point I was not impressed and was worried it was not filtering much at all since this reads close to my tap water out of the sink. So I gave it a week of use before I came to a conclusion. After a week of use, test showed a PPM of about 45! Good enough for me. As long as it filters something and it's close to the Samsung filters, this a great buy!

Though it is smaller in circumference that the OEM, it filters the water as expected and isn't leaking The instructions are not very helpful but the 2 things to absolutely do are 1.) shut off the water to your refrigerator and release the pressure by drawing water from the water dispenser and 2.) after installing and turning the water back on, run 4 to 6 gallons from the dispenser to flush the filter.

I seemed to always have trouble with the OEM Samsung filters, they would clog or stop working well after the first month. I tried some other brands in the past and actually threw them away after a couple of weeks. The Mist filter has been different, it lasted about 3 months with no issues until the end. We drink large amounts of water at our house and a slow, clogged filter slows down the entire house. This is my second filter by this manufacturer and at this point will be the only brand I buy.

I was skeptical at first. You definitely have to run a couple of cups of water to flush it but it works great! I am thrilled that I don't have to spend $50 a cartridge! I will definitely be ordering this from now on!

We recently moved into a new home and found that the "replace filter" light was displayed on the refrigerator's panel so we ordered the Mist replacement filter. We had a bit of a problem getting the old filter out but the Mist went in very easily. About a tablespoon of water came out during the change which was the amount expected. I ran a few glasses of water through the filter and it is working well. I don't know how long it will last. If it's anything short of it's expected life I'll repost.

Updated: Their customer service department saw my initial review and contacted me very quickly. They both refunded my cost and sent me a new filter to try. The new filter fits well, the water tastes great, and it no longer leaks. The water pressure isn't as forceful, but that's good for me because too much output pressure makes water spray all over the place!
I'm happy with the new filter. I also changed my star review to a 5/5 based on the new filter and their awesome customer service. No one likes having to deal with customer service, but it's nice to deal with good people when you *do* have to use them.

Original review: It fits well, The price is nice, I have good water pressure with it, and the water tastes great... but it leaks a little. I'm probably not going to order another.

This review is for the Mist Samsung DA29-00020B Refrigerator Water Filter Replacement

Perfect replacement for my Samsung. I cannot believe Samsung is charging fifty bucks for their filters now.

The first Mist filter had an issue with flow being slow. I contacted maker and they sent out a new one in a flash.

Happy with the results and no leaks at all. Water tastes good too.

OH MY GOSH, I can't believe the money I have WASTED on buying the BRAND NAME for these. I was putting off replacing my filter in my Samsung Fridge because I would CRINGE knowing the $$ I had to spend for a replacement. NOT ANYMORE, now when the light comes on I immediately go to my cupboard where I keep 3 of these on hand at all times. Don't waste your money on the BRAND NAME, these do the exact same thing for a FRACTION of the cost! What would I do without Amazon?????

Disclaimer-I receive no benefit by providing this review. I have learned from bitter experience that low-price refrigerator filters don't last very long, but this maker could prove me wrong...I'll just have to wait and see. Pluses: A low price along with a good density of filtration including taste and odor control charcoal leads me to believe this product could be a cut above the rest. Only time will tell. Water and ice made using this filter taste great!
