I purchased two boxes of these "cookies". Let me first preface by saying that I have purchased several protein snacks and drinks and these by far have to be the WORST. I purchased these to be a quick meal replacement in the morning if I run out the door and don't get a chance to eat. I ate one and it was was nothing like a cookie. I felt it had the same consistency as play dough. The taste was very chalky and unappealing. In the end it gave me an upset stomach. I am used to taking in protein and fiber so that wasn't the issue. I then had a friend try the cookies as well to see if maybe my system was "off". He called me later in the day and said that he had an upset stomach and other symptoms.

All in all, I don't plan on purchasing any more of this product. The taste is not that bad but the consistency and the after effects are just not worth the convenience. YMMV

Its just OK. I don't partculalrly care for the overall nutritional or macro profile on this bar. Too many calories, too many carbs, not enough protein (hey isn't this supposed to be a protein cookie?). It just doesn't fit my nutritional needs. With more protein and even added sugar I could at least go to it post-workout, but not as is. Taste is OK, not great, not terrible. A bit chalky and dry but I am not one of these people that feels I need to always tickle my taste buds, particularly when eating something functional. However, this cookie is not functional enough to justify taste or cost.

Without a doubt, this is the best protein supplement I've ever had! These cookies are soft, not crumbly like some protein bars or other cookies. With 18 grams of protein, it's like having an afternoon shake without having to make a shake! Absolutely my go to afternoon snack when I get a craving for something sweet. I can not say enough positive things about these cookies. I love em! Best. Taste. Ever!

This is my first time trying MuscleTech’s Protein Cookies, and these things are great! Not only are they soft baked, but pop them in the microwave for a few seconds before consuming and you have an amazing treat! I kept a few of these with me over the Memorial Day weekend, so when all the desserts came out, I had my own treat. These cookies pack 18g of premium protein primarily sourced from whey, which gives them a higher Biological Value compared to the competitors. BV is a measure of how much of the protein’s compounds your body holds on to, and no other protein has a higher biological value than whey! The Protein Cookie is also gluten free, contains no artificial colors or flavors, zero trans fats and contains 8g of fiber. Just as a comparison, that’s the same amount of fiber as 1.6 cups of quinoa! I purchased the chocolate chip flavor, but next will be peanut butter chip, followed by triple chocolate. I highly recommend these cookies as an alternative to the average cardboard tasting protein bar. If you’re looking for a cleaner macronutrient profile with half the sugar compared to the competition, give these a try – you won’t be disappointed!

I've bought these protein cookies from brick and mortar stores and they were a lot softer than the ones I got here. I don't think this is Amazon's fault as the best by dates were pretty close to each other.

with that being said, functional foods are the new thing.

the issue with trying to replicate cookies while incorporating protein is that they often tend to be more "protein bar" than "cookie". sadly, the muscletech protein cookie falls into the "more protein bar" than cookie category.

this cookie is dense. calorically and physically. diameter wise its not that big but its pretty thicks.

texture - the ones I got here were pretty hard. it reminded me of those pure protein chocolate flavored protein bars. it definitely did not resemble the texture of an actual cookie. i understand it's pretty hard to replicate a 'real' cookie texture but other brands have come a lot closer. its definitely better in the microwave.

flavor - I've tried triple chocolate and peanut butter. the flavors are inline with the description. theres a strong artificial sugar taste to them too.

macros - most protein cookies are pretty similiar in terms of macros. it comes in at 350 calories which (to me) is like a meal replacement. protein blend/content is decent. no cheap collagen here.

overall these cookies were a miss for me. the texture was hard and reminded me too much of a protein bar shaped as a circle.

I need to review this both as a food, and a product.
It's a cookie that eats more like a meal. This thing is huge. You only get cookies this big at the mall. As far as taste, I love it. It's soft as if you're eating cookie dough. It's got just a little bit of chocolate to satisfy your cravings. It's not like a chips ahoy cookie, and it's not a protein bar either, but it's somewhere in between. You need to try it to understand. Regardless, it's yummy.
I think most people look at this and think of it as a treat. It's really a good on the go food and I take it with me and eat it while driving. Recently I took one with me on a flight and I was glad I did because the airline meal wasn't enough. The biggest plus I think is that it makes a great gift for girls. My girlfriend loved it. My female coworkers loved it. Divide a box amongst your friends or coworkers and they'll love it. Much better than getting clif bars for everyone.

High in carbs but is actually great for a post workout snack, with the whey protein and sugars. Not perfect for pre-workout since it has 8 grams of fiber. Would weigh heavy on the stomach. The cookie is very dense too. I myself ate about half of the cookie and saved the rest for later as a mid-day snack. The Peanut butter chip flavor was really good. I love peanut butter anyway so this flavor was perfect for me. Not the best macros but if you use them as part of your the post workout meal then you should be good.

These aren't bad, but to me they're less a cookie and more like an overly-sweet protein bar; the texture is quite thick, somewhat between crumbly and chewy. The flavor is ok, the chocolate is noticeable, but due to the combo of sugars and sweeteners, it's quite a bit off from a normal cookie. That being said, if you truly cannot hold yourself back, or your rather strict with your diet (I could see these being a good cheat meal when cutting, as they aren't too bad nutritionally), these are a decent enough choice. As a celiac, I appreciate the gluten free aspect as well.

I just kind of wish they could have managed to make them similar to this, but very low carb for when I go keto, then they would have had a truly winning recipe. As is, I may get again but not something I'd probably go out of my way to get.

I was initially introduced to these back in April 2017 when they went public, chocolate chip, and was immediately hooked. I had finally found a substantial meal replacement. Seriously, these cookies have weight but that weight is everything you need to pre-game, sustain in between and amazing post-. I agree with the heat & eat recommendation, but what I like to do is add a portion to the milk or water I plan to use for my protein shake 30 minutes in advance, let it soak and soften, make the shake and toss it in the freezer for another 30. Try it. Guilty-pleasure aside, the price is right, the ingredients fit my lifestyle and needs and the taste is spectacular!

MuscleTech Protein Cookie

Overall Rating: 7/10

Summary: If you like those cookies that have been found to not have the macros they were displaying, then you will love these cookies! Soft and delicious!!

Taste: 7/10
Peanut butter flavor is not very good, but chocolate chip is much better!

Texture: 9/10
Better than most protein cookies and bars I have tried.

Macros: 6/10 (9G FAT : 49G CARBS (8 FIBER) : 18G PROTEIN)
TOO MANY CARBS FOR ME! I would like to see the company replace the carbs with a high fat protein, or maybe create a keto style cookie... Either way the ingredients are good, and not too many "unknown" & "I can't even pronounce it" ingredients.

Price: 8/10 ($10.44 for a box of 6 : $1.74 per cookie)
Much better price point than the competition. This is a price I would not shy away from paying. In addition, this cookie is more like a meal replacement, and a meal for $1.74 is a great price!

In closing, this cookie slams and beats all cookie competitors that you could put it up against. We just need more flavors now!
