Much better than anything else I used
on November 23, 2016
I have another metal scoop, but this one is much better. I use alternative litter (aka 16% chicken crumble), which is just s chicken feed sold in most farm feed stores. It is in form of small granules, about a size of a wheat grain. Most scoops have slits/holes that are designed for most commercial litters, like Scoop Away. The size of particles in those litters are smaller, so most scoops sold in pet stores designed to sift through those litters, and in my case didn't work as well with larger particles.
This scoop works perfectly. Not only its sturdier, the sifting is faster as the larger particles in my litters tend to slide easier between the blades of the scoop. Yes, it costs two-three times as much is cheap plastic scoops from Walmart, but for something that I use every day in three litter boxes, its worth every penny.
If someone from iPrimio is reading this review, I would recommend a small change to the wall mounting bracket; the bracket comes with self-adhesive foam tape for easy attachment to the wall. I prefer attaching my items to walls, etc. using screws. In a case with this sifter I drilled two holes in plastic bracket and attached it to the mounting surface above the litter box with two small stainless screws. I modify things I buy all the time, some of them in simple ways, like drilling two holes in this bracket. I am an Engineer, I have all of the tools, parts and know-how I need, but many people don't have this, and may decide to not do what I did for fear of damaging the bracket, or not doing it right, etc. I would recommend adding two holes in the plastic bracket, just like I did, and may be adding a note either on packaging, or on mounting instructions on their website explaining that the bracket may be attached to the the mounting surface (wall. etc.) either by using a tape, or two screws.
Just my two cents...
