Just get the 24" Model
May 17, 2016
The best way to explain this plotter is that firstly, the 14" as part of its name is just plain bad advertising.
Doing my own research before my buy, I already knew going into this that it was going to be closer to 8.5" of workable plotter space.
Being that most vinyls I would prefer to work with start at 15" rolls, I was disappointed to find cutting down the sheets I was about to use would leave me with so much waste. Live and learn though.
Beyond that, as someone who has worked professionally with plotters like roland and graphtec, I would say that for its price, its pretty awesome to start out with, but you can't expect to do any sort of real work with it beyond small decals for someone every now and then. Its cut quality is okay. The noise is kinda awful but its pretty great to have my own plotter at home.
HOWEVER anyone who wants to get into vinyl plotting to start up a side business, I really do recommend getting the larger 24" Plotter, as your workable space is much larger and you can utilize 15" rolls.
