Good but too serious to be "cozy"
February 7, 2018
While this was a decent mystery with great character development, I wouldn't classify this as a "cozy" mystery. I think of cozy mysteries as "migraine books" - a no-brainer that distracts you when you have a migraine headache. This book, although well written, was just way too serious and deep. I felt moments of sadness, grief, and anxiety. I had been hoping for something lighthearted to distract me from my daily grind. The main focus of the book was character development and I felt the mystery was just thrown in as a side plot.
