I’m not one to write a such a negative review, but I am so appalled at not only the quality of this vacuum, but also Black and Deckers customer service that I simply had to say something. I received this vacuum on a Saturday afternoon and put it together. It didn’t come with a manual in the box (strike one) but that was easily accessible online. I’m handy. Putting a vacuum together wasn’t taxing. I was excited to use it as my typical prime shopping took 3 days instead of 2 (this has been happening frequently, anyone else?) and I have 3 kids and a Great Pyrenees dog. Anyway, the second I plugged it in, it started TO SMOKE. I immediately shut it off and quickly diagnosed the problem-broken belt. Right out of the box, are you kidding me??!? I couldn’t find replacements in stores! I would love to tell you that I was able to speak with someone at Black and Decker immediately, however it’s now been a full WEEK, 6 emails and 1 voicemail to their company and I haven’t heard anything in reply. Their emails say their customer service hours are 8-5 M-F EST. Their voicemail line says 9-6 M-F CST. But apparently no one works ever... I mean, what else am I to assume?
So now I have to take this piece of crap apart again and return it. Mark my words. I’m never buying a Black and Decker again.
I’ve been without a vacuum for nearly two weeks now. I’m going to have to shovel myself out. (Again, three kids and a long haired dog)
