What a great product! We love our Rolo Balance board. The board is extremely well made, the surface is very well done (not slippery at all) and the graphic on the top is beautiful (We have the "Elements" graphic on ours). It's great for anyone looking to improve core strength and balance (while having fun in the process). It's really helped our kids with wake boarding and skate boarding. We love the two options for the board (the large roller which is used perpendicular to the board as well as the narrow roller which is used parallel to the boar). We have also placed an inflatable rubber disc under it for another type of workout (we picked it up at a local big box store for under $10). If you are just starting it you might feel more comfortable holding onto something at first, but once you get the hang of it it's great! We generally use it on a carpeted surface, but you can even use it outside on the grass if you'd like. It stores easily, but you may want to keep the board out--it's practically a piece of art!
If you love surfing, skating, snowboarding or just want to work on better balance, you'll have a great time with this. Makes leg and balance strengthening way more fun. He loves the ability to use two different motions with it. The large and stocky roller is the typical left to right balance and is great for upper legs, while the long skinny roller is for heel-to-toe motions and works more of your calves.
Just make sure to use it on a carpet or rugs, the thicker the better. This makes it easier to control and the motions less sensitive. If you have hardwood floors, purchase a rug or find a large scrap of carpet from someone changing their floors. Also, try not to use it on anything other than the first floor. It can get pretty loud.
I have to hide it sometimes as people typically hop on as soon as they see it. =P
Arrived on time with excellent communication from the seller. I only gave 4 stars because the surface is quite rough. Although it is a little uncomfortable just starting out without shoes, the rough surface I think will wear down over time and is of course doing its job keeping my feet in place. I haven't had a chance to use it to its full ability yet due to time constraints. I have tried the indo board at a friend's house and prefer this board due to the shape and the long balance rod. I also really like that there is an indentation on the underside where the balance rods nestle into. I did quite a bit of research on the balance board options before deciding on this one. I am a novice surfer and am really looking forward to using this to improve balance and gain strength in surfing positions. Recently I moved from an apartment to a house with a lawn and have already been using it more.
it was my anniversary gift to my husband .... he was so excited ... bummer it comes in a labeled box.... was still fun when the UPS deliveries gave it to him......just hope he will not kill himself .... he is an old man now.... as his son told him, is a nicely made big boy toy .... would be beautiful as a wall decoration .... he went to work and was bragging I was told .... great price on for a surfer to keep fresh
To start off I was insanely lucky when I purchased this product (at least I feel I was). I cant remember if the price at the time was $169.95 or $179.95 for these boards, but I believe it was $179.95. There was one particular design out of about 10 different total designs that for whatever reason was listed at $139.95 which seemed odd, but after a bit of research I didn't find anything different from the other boards except the design which is something I could personally care less about, although I actually liked the design which made it seem like an even better deal. So since it was 20%+ cheaper than all the other designs, I quickly purchased it and hoped there wasn't some issue with it. It showed up in a couple days with 2-day prime shipping, and was in perfect condition and included both rollers which were also in perfect condition. Even if it wasn't available for the steal of a price I got it for, it is definitely worth the asking price. The board is extremely sturdy and moves very smoothly across the rollers. The only think I would recommend is to not use the board on any type of surface that you wouldn't want getting scratched. Aside from that it is an awesome product, helps with your balance, is good to use when you're watching TV or just because you're bored, and is just a fun thing to have around. My friends love it and despite minor injuries incurred from constant use, cant seem to stay off of it. I've owned it for about a month now and it still looks and works as well as the day I took it out of the box. Highly recommend.
Just got this in yesterday, it is the first time I have ever used a balance board. I have been surfing once but other than that have no experience with board sports. I got this to incorporate into a workout routine and thought that it might be fun as well. Set up is self explanatory and simple. I started out using the board while holding onto my counter because I'm not a fan of falling. After about 10 minutes I was fairly comfortable on the board and was no long holding onto the counter. I haven't used the pro roller yet, I figure I will give myself some time to adjust even more to the original before I take a leap in the learning curve. It is a fun activity and I even brought it in to work today to use on my breaks. The colors on the deck are vibrant. Over all, I am extremely happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone.
The graphics on the board (I got the tree/water version) are vibrant, look great and garner comments anytime someone comes by. The board is definitely durable and non-slip. You might want to start with workout shoes and such. I barefoot it now and love it that way. I have never used a balance board before so I started out with the small roller and pretty much was full time on the large roller within a few days. Start on a rug at first since it will provide some cushioning and extra friction to dampen the motion. To help get going, especially on the larger roller, just put the roller/board in the center of a door frame; orient the board in the nose-to-tail direction so you have full tilt in both directions. This lets you reach out and use the door frame (facing either direction) for balance while you literally get the hang of things. I have now incorporated the board into my workouts and do stretching, calisthenics and light weights while balancing, really fun. I also do push ups on the board; feet on board for slight decline pushup and hands on board for slight incline pushup. The extra balancing definitely adds to the workout. The design of the board allows use both directions. This is a really smart idea and provides a VERY different workout. I have a surfer friend and he said I'm ready for the surf after he watched me working the board in the different directions!
I have been enjoying rolo boards for years. I recently bought one and had a small issue with it. Within a couple hours of emailing them, I was contacted by the owner himself. It was clear he cared a lot about his product and company. He took care of the problem immediately and got me squared away. Great boards, great company. I am impressed
I got this to help increase my foot strength, but it also makes a great work out for your legs & core. First day(20 mins) I wasn't so good at it, but by the third day I was very conformable and could start trying out small tricks. (I've only had it three days)
You don't need much room, I use it in an area of 10x6. I have it setup in front of the TV, so instead of flopping on the couch to watch TV, I just jump on the board.
I wasn't sure if I want this one with the graphics(or a plain one), but the pictures don't do it justice, the graphics are awesome.
I'm 195lb and I hear some creaking/cracking sounds, I don't know if that is normal or if I have a defective board. If it breaks, I'll post an update.
