I have an RS2578WW/XAA fridge, and Amazon's part selector came up with this filter.

It does not fit. I have attached pictures from Samsung's webpage titled
"RFG299AARS/XAA Replacement Filter Does Not Fit".

Notice the locking ring on Samsung has pointed tips.
This third party filter does not have those.

My old filter looks just like the proper kind from Samsung's webpage.
The filters I got from this order look like the incompatible kind.
I cannot mount them at all, and I'm not going to force the wrong one into place.

In the past, Waterdrop brand was just like Samsung's, but that product was discontinued.
I'm trying the current Waterdrop product, and hope to have better luck there.

These "Premium Water Filters" fit perfect and are of the highest quality. They do exactly what they say they will do. The problem is that I did not realize what I was purchasing. I guess I needed the company to be clearer in the product description. The original filter that comes with the refrigerator filters out chlorine, but it also filters out heavy metals. The replacement filters are quite pricey. Fifty dollars for a six month filter! Well, I shopped around and found this three pack for about the same price. WOW! what a deal, except for the fact that these filters do not filter heavy metals, only chlorine. I did not know before purchasing these filters, but even though the filters look alike all filters are not equal in what they filter. If you only need to filter chlorine then these are 5 star filters, if you need more, like heavy metals, then look for a different product.

Arrived in time and in good shape. Fits well. That's good part, and has little to do with "Refresh" or whoever is behind this product. Now the nasty bits. Literally and figuratively.

It took many, many gallons of flushing to eliminate the creepy-looking little bits of material from my water. This was not the innocuos discoloration from the carbon block that I would see from the Samsung filter.

The one big thing I can't abide is a company that tries to trick consumers into thinking the product is something that it isn't. Starting with the Amazon listing, Refresh wants to appear to be the original Samsung product. "Samsung Aqua-Pure DA29-00003G Water Filter..." That's written to deceive us.

And later, in the Description "...activated carbon block filter which has received NSF42 approval." That, and all references to NSF "approval" on the refreshmywater.com website are flat-out lies. The WQA has certified the Refresh products to certain NSF/ANSI standards for material safety and structural integrity ONLY. Not removal of solids, cysts, chemicals just materials of construction. This product has no independent certification of removal of foreign materials from your drinking water.

But on the Refresh website, they use the NSF logo and they have a whole page that would have us believe that they have received "Our filters are 100% NSF Certifed." Whatever that means!

The problem is, the Refresh products have no certification directly from NSF. They are not listed in NSF's website, which is kept up to date every day. If a product isn't found on the NSF online lookup, it ain't certified, folks. End of story.

So, if you don't mind rolling the dice on a product that lies about its credentials, be my guest. I bit, based on the WQA certification, but when I investigated further, I found all the misleading information this product claims for itself, and regretted trying to save $20 on something that may affect my health.

Into the trash can with this filter! Back to Samsung, which is made by 3M and has real, not bogus, NSF certification. With Refresh, we don't have a clue as to who we are really dealing with as far as the manufacturer's identity, except that it's some phantom factory in China. What a surprise, that, eh?

This filter is NOT a DA29-00003G compatible filter. I installed it four months ago and just realized that no water has been going through it. I should have known when I didn't get the click in place feeling you get when a truly compatible filter is correctly installed. No matter how hard I try, it won't click into place. With my refrigerator, when a filter is not properly clicked into place, it is as though no filter is installed at all and it is just bypassed and continues on to the ice maker and water dispenser. So when I originally installed it 4 months ago, and water came out, I thought well, OK water is coming out, so it must be installed correctly. But it wasn't. I won't be ordering this product again. That's two of them wasted.

We have a Samsung RS277ACRS refrtigerator. Amazon's selector shows this filter to be a direct replacement. The manufacturers box shows this tto be a direct replacement as well. Yet it doesn't lock in place as it should. The refrigerator calls for DA29-00003B or the newer DA29-00003G filters. They won't lock in, the collar is the wrong design, even though they show as compatible.

Not sure what to say about this batch. I have a Samsung refrigerator and I change the filter every 8 weeks because Atlanta city water is horrible. Occasionally, over the past years, these filters have had a chemical odor/taste, so I stopped using the Samsung brand for a while. Tried this order and the first filter we used was great. Water was delicious. Just changed to the second filter and the chemical taste/smell is awful. Going to try the third one now. I hope it works. These are way too expensive to throw away. I probably will not buy this brand again.

It is difficult to install, but so is the new Samsung genuine $49 part, due to its' new design. Installation aside, I could never get the water to run clear. Lot's of sediment and really bad tasting. I thought I would try it to see if I could save some money, but it wasn't worth it. I had the filter in for a few days but ended up returning it and having the Samsung genuine $49 part delivered overnight.

The first lower cost filters that work. I tried some other alternatives to Samsung's filter but they either didn't work or they didn't last as long. This brand is working the same as Samsung and saves me a few dollars. win/win

Didn't fit... great value but useless since we couldn't get them to fit. (apparently there was a manufacturing change to the model #...) don't know don't care... if these fit, I'd have loved the price point.

This will not fit a RFG298AARS even though Samsung's website indicates that it will. They are way different at the tip. Be sure you read others review and not take the info from mfg website only.
