I have naturally curly hair and I've used blow dryers and flat irons for years and I could never get my hair this smooth. It was silky and shiny like it gets in the salon. It's worth the 100 bucks! I'm getting rid of my flat irons.

When I purchased this, it was to replace my original instyler that I purchased 5 years ago. I literally love all that there is about the instyler! It smooths and tames the frizz while giving it the body it deserves. I didn't want to look like a teenager with pin straight hair. So this purple delight replaced my holy grail. I liked the idea of the rotator being able to swap rotations (easier when you do the back of your head) ... I have used it for about 2 weeks now and I have to say, I wish I bought the original one instead. Never in 5 years have I ever had the rotator actually pinch my hair and continue to "eat" my hair while still rotating. It's been pretty painful when it does this. I'm not sure if it's because the Barrel can rotate both way but I say, if you want the quality, get the original

I have used the instyler for years. So happy that I can get it on Amazon. But I am reading so many complaints that I feel I need to say something. I have used a curling iron that had done so much for my hair. I have frizzy curly hair and I would always end up with lots of split ends from drying and curling my hair. It was so bad and embarrassing. Since I started using the instyler I do not get split ends and my hair is so shiny I get nothing but complements on how beautiful and my hair is. I can make curl it and make nice big curls and I can also straighten it. I believe that most complaints are because of not being able to learn how to use it. There is a learning curve but so worth figuring out the coordination. Keep trying you will be happy.

I had the original one for years. It finally started breaking down and having some issues. So I was on the market for another instyler. Was a little disappointed that I couldn’t find the original one and this 2 way one had very mixed reviews. I tried it out this morning and can say I really like the new instyler. Having the option to have it rotate each way actually makes a difference and doesn’t irritate the wrist so much. The amount of shine and volume it makes is amazing. My hair is naturally very curly and frizzy and I feel with the instyler it makes it look controlled and beautiful. If you’re feeling skeptical about the new one like I was don’t be. It works just as good. The only down side I will say is that this one “can” pull your hair more than the original one did. Plus this new one comes with the heat guard (if you need it) and the counter heat protection mat.

I love this. It works great for my natural 3c - 4b hair types. I've even used it on the second out of 4 heat setting to get a blow out look. The first time I used it on blown out hair and used the hottest heat and only needed 2 passes. I had no heat damage either time using it. Also no fried hair smell.

Pretty amazed by this tool! I always felt awkward using hair tools/products and stayed away from them for the most part. And when I did try things, the curl wouldn't hold or the look wasn't right. I've done several looks with this tool and LOVE it! My hair is very thick, coarse and long. It's hard to tame/style and never holds a look for than a couple hours.
I'm attaching some pictures: the first picture is from having hair tied up all night, the second picture is just quickly using the tool to straighten with a slight flip at the end, the third picture is after blowing it dry from the shower, the fourth picture is using the tool to add waves. Every style that I've done has taken 10-15 minutes, so much less time that others over the years. In addition, the styles held for two full days until I washed my hair again. What the pictures don't show is how silky soft my hair was, or how much body it had.
For the first time in decades, I'm enjoying my long hair, instead of keeping it in a pony tail until the next time I chop it all off.

This is my favoraite roller. I own another overseas version that uses titanium roller for 220 volts. This works just as well and a fraction of the price. If I want curly hair, I would use other roller. This one is perfect if you want to roll the ends of your hair, or your bangs, or give it more volume. The trick is that you must dry your hair and blow dry with your comb as usual, then, finish off with the roller to get your preferred style. I usually would put some hair products on so that the look can stay the whole day especially with my stubborn hair.
This roller is actually very popular in Asia (under a different name).

This device is very difficult to get used to and the curls are much larger than I expected, almost nonexistent, more of just body than curl . I was hoping to replace my hot iron/curling brush tool, but this is just too difficult to get the hang of with the two rotation directions and the reflection in the mirror it can be confusing as to which direction it needs to rotate in. And it's not just in the switching from one side of my head to the other, but when I need to hold it in a different angle even on the same side of the head. It's mentally exhausting keeping up with the rotation directions and I've always considered myself coordinated.
