Convenient, but expensive and includes fillers
on March 18, 2018
This reishi is conveniently packaged in individual serving packets and tastes good. But it’s expensive and includes stevia and other fillers (peppermint, anise, etc.).
What I’ve noticed is that all the Four Sigmatic individual mushroom packets contain stevia and other powders along with the mushroom powder. This might not be a problem for some people, but I prefer the pure form more.
The pricing is also pretty crazy. It’s closing in on $1.50 per serving, when you can get the same quality reishi from other companies for $0.18 per serving (pure reishi).
I know Four Sigmatic likes to throw around words like “wild crafted” and whatever else, but understand those terms as marketing. There’s nothing special about their mushrooms that other companies don’t offer, too (lab testing, non-GMO, certified organic, specific extraction techniques).
If you like the flavor, don’t mind the extra ingredients, like the convenience of single packets, and can afford the cost, the Four Sigmatic reishi packets are totally fine.
If you just want pure reishi at a more reasonable cost, and you’re willing to teaspoon out the reishi yourself, then look elsewhere for similar quality reishi.
