I purchased the stainless steel steamer basket in January 2018 and by March 2018 after being used a few times, it was already showing heavy amounts of rust. At first, I accepted it as a waste of money and a lesson learned but after thinking about it for a week, I decided to contact Sunsella explaining the issue.
Damien at Sunsella was very quick to respond to my inquiry, asked for more details and photos of the steamer basket so he could share them with the quality control team. In addition, he offered to send a replacement at no extra charge and was even willing to substitute the green silicone basket in its place.
After sending the photos, Damien explained that the basket I had was not a Sunsella product because it did not have the company logo stamped into it. There was an obvious mixup somewhere but true to his word, Damien was still willing to replace it and a few days later, the silicone basket arrived.
The green silicone basket I received is of high quality and design having deeper walls than the stainless steel basket. It is definitely superior to the stainless steel basket I had received and I believe it to be a better choice overall. If I could go back in time, I would have ordered the silicone basket to begin with but I am glad that Damien and Sunsella are willing to stand behind their products and do everything in their power to offer a proper resolution.
