We were involved in a complete rollover after our 12 passenger van hit black ice. 7 of our 10 children were riding in the van at the time. The other 3 were with my parents. 4 of our children were in this seat I had just purchased a couple months prior. The seats never moved during the roll and they had no major injuries or marks whatsoever!! Just 1 small cut to the forehead due to shattering glass from the window she was sitting next to. Our 1 year old baby was rear facing in an Evenflo Tribute and came through without a single mark! During the roll the windshield, all left side windows and rear window shattered. Our van was completely totaled.

Our twins were on the brink of turning four when we decided to invest in some new car seats. We previously had Britax Marathon convertible seats and our kids were big enough to switch to booster seats (using the 5-point harness system) so we figured we might as well buy some new ones. My husband and I did a lot of research on the best booster car seats and the Evenflo Maestro seats were high on the list on many websites.

We have boy/girl twins so we ordered one of the Thunder color (blue and black) and one of the Taylor color (pink, gray and black). When they arrived, we opened them up and found them fairly easy to set up, especially since they have a similar setup to the convertible car seats we already had. After pulling the seats out of the boxes, we had to snap in the cup holders (two for each car seat), set up the straps according to our kids' heights, and fasten them into the car. I'd say the setup time for each seat from start to finish was about ten minutes but that's because we had experience with seats that are similar.

Initially, we ordered two seats over four months ago and liked them enough to purchase two more so both of our cars have two seats in them. We have a total of four of these seats, two Thunder and two Taylor, and have had good luck with them in the four months we've been using them. Here are some pros and cons we've discovered so far:

Pros
- Easy to install and remove in case you need to switch cars
- Comfortable for kids to sit in for long car rides with plenty of padding to keep them safe in case of an accident
- Two cup holders on each seat (diameter of the inner part of the cup holders measures three inches and there is a stretchable piece at the front) for drinks, snack cups, small toys or whatever your little ones want to put in there
- Affordable and come in colors for both genders
- Can be used on airplanes
- Cover can be easily removed and washed if needed

Cons
- Hard to tighten straps. I'm fairly strong and I have to pull hard to tighten the straps but, now that I've gotten used to them, I hardly notice it.
- Seats are light enough that they shift occasionally when you tighten the straps but they still stay in place
- By the child's feet is a button you push to loosen the straps. This is surrounded by hard plastic and my husband has cut himself a couple times (not to the point of bleeding) on his fingers when he puts his finger in there. He has bigger hands than I do and I've never had this problem.

Points to Consider
- This seat is NOT a rear-facing seat. It can be used with the 5-point harness use as well as the booster seat use in the forward-facing position only.
- For Harness Use, child requirements are: 22 to 50 pounds (10 to 22.6 kg) and 28 to 50 inches (71 to 127 cm)
- For Booster Use, child requirements are: 40 to 110 pounds (18 to 49.8 kg) and 43.3 to 57 inches (110 to 145 cm)

These car seats are made in the USA and the ones we received were manufactured in December of 2016 with a six-year expiration date of November of 2022. As of right now, there haven't been any recalls on these particular seats.

We've been using these car seats for over four months and really like them so far! Despite the couple of cons, which weren't enough to deter us from purchasing our second set of these seats, I'm very pleased with these seats and feel our kids are very safe in them. We've only been using the harness so far so I will update this review when we switch to the booster use with any new information. I have a 2008 Ford Fusion, my husband has a 2008 Ford Escape and these seats easily fit and work well with both cars.

As a parent, I feel these seats are very safe and I would only buy a seat that has high safety ratings. I love the design and feel these seats are very well-made and sturdy. There is plenty of padding to keep my kids comfortable and to protect them should we get into any accidents. My kids can easily climb into the seats and need me to fasten them in since we still use the 5-point harness system. Once we switch to the booster use, I will add any pertinent information in as well as update this review with anything else I discover and adjust my rating as necessary. I'm impressed with these seats and think they are a great option for anyone looking for booster seats that will last for a long time. I feel they are reasonably priced so you could purchase a few if you need them for your car, your spouse's car, or a grandparent's car. We found a couple of cons to these seats but they don't present major concerns and shouldn't impact the safety of your child. If you are looking for a booster seat for your child, I recommend these seats!

We have two of these for our 3 and 2 year old. We mostly use them for when we travel and for Dad's car. They are really light and we attach them to our Go-Go Babyz Travelmate.Go-Go Babyz Travelmate Black

We have flown several times with these and the Go-Go and both are super durable and still look pretty new. Since the seats are light, they're easy to carry down the aisle of the plane, but you can't roll them, still a little too wide. Our kids sleep much better in these seats, than if they were just in the airplane seat too. We detach the Go-Go right before we get in line to board. Our kids like to roll it, so that helps and then we put them in the overhead for the flight. Our longest travel time has been a 6 hour flight, 1 hour layover with a 1 hour flight with a 1.5 hour drive home and the kids preferred to seat in the carseat even when we weren't flying.

We also enjoy strolling these through the airport, instead of a stroller. When you go through security. Pop the kids out, keep the carseat and Go-Go attached and they will do a separate check. We walk through the metal detector with the kids. We found that security usually tries to get us through pretty quickly, because we have two small children. People usually think we are pulling our suitcases until they get behind us and see the kids. Our kids love it and always wave and yell out Hi! to people. We have also been lucky to not need strollers at our destinations, but it is also nice to not have to rent a car seat or putting responsibility on whomever we are staying with too.

Generally, if we have two suitcases, one of us will pull both kids and the other parent deals with the luggage.

One less stress with traveling!

The picture attached, shows how we store them in our garage. The handles of the Go-Go are adjustable, just like rolling a suitcase.

Why we love it:
- SAFETY: 5-point harness keeps our 3-year-old more securely in the seat for longer (plan to use until 5 years old)
- LONGEVITY: converts to seatbelt booster for use up to 110 lbs/57 inches
- COMFORT: lots of padding, great for longer car rides
- easy to buckle, doesn't tangle
- great design with lots of detail stitching
- attached to latch system, so it doesn't slide around and is easy for child to climb into
- affordable at under 70 dollars

After many hours of research online, comparing car seats in stores and ordering two car seats as "finalists" from Amazon, we have chosen this one for a number of reasons.

The main consideration for us was keeping our 3-year-old in a 5-point harness seat for as long as possible, but not wanting to purchase a new seat in two years when she moves up to a seatbelt booster. We had to purchase a new seat for her now, because our second child is moving up into her old seat. Technically, our child meets the minimum requirements for a seatbelt booster now, but after reading a few discussion on this, it seems that with every seat "upgrade" (changing to forward-facing, then changing to seatbelt booster) you loose a layer of safety. In fact, even in our car manual it states that due to a child's anatomy, they recommend a 5-point harness until 5 years old (their skeleton isn't mature enough to "properly" handle a car accident if they are using a seatbelt booster this young).

While safety was the biggest selling point for us to choose a convertible 5-point harness/seatbelt car seat, there are a few features that made this car seat stand out within this category. It is very nicely padded and the angle in the car is nice (not too steep or too upright), which makes for a comfortable ride. It's very easy to buckle, tighten, unbuckle, loosen and the straps don't tangle easily. This seat attaches to the latch system of the car, so it doesn't slide around when my 3-year-old climbs in the seat herself (this will be useful when we convert to the seatbelt function as well). As for any carseat that attaches via the latch system, you should check your car specs to see what the weight limit is for using a latch seat.

I also love the colors — sleek and neutral but with a bit of custom stitching and hints of red that give some nice detail. My child loves the cup holders (I never knew she cared, but it's the first thing she noticed...) — they have an elastic band in the front which holds in the cup.

The other seat we had ordered, but ended up returning is the "Evenflo Chase LX Harnessed Booster, Jameson" (Evenflo Chase LX Harnessed Booster, Jameson). The two models are very similar, the main difference was the amount of padding — the Maestro is just so much more comfortable, while with the Chase seat you could feel the hard plastic through the thinner padding.

When I felt how light this seat was, I didn't think it would be very sturdy so I ordered a second seat and decided to use this in the car that my son did not ride in regularly. Just 2 weeks after installing it we had my sister's son along so he was using this seat when we were hit head on at 40mph. Both front desert passengers had cuts and broken bones. The child in this seat had a scrape on his nose while my son who was in the heavier, more expensive seat, broke his jaw and nose. All minor for how hard we were but but I will be replacing both seats with this model.

This seat arrived all put together and ready to go, except for the cup holders, which have an awesome stretchy band on them to accommodate any sized cup, including awkward sized sippy cups and snack cups!

The seat was extremely easy to adjust for everything on it. The straps slid so smoothly, but once they were locked in place that car seat literally is not going anywhere. I got it out of the box, adjusted, and installed in less than an hour.

My kid loves it too, the blue color is very pretty and he said that it was "Super comfy and snuggleifrick." Not 100% sure what snuggleifrick means but it sounds like a good 2 year old review.

This seat is great, especially for tall children. My two year old is the size of an average 4 year old and trying to find a 5 point harness that would accommodate him for at least a couple more years was difficult until I found this one.

Definitely worth it for the value. Will recommend to my friends and family.

I did a lot of research into car seats before I chose one. I decided on this one based on the raving reviews. I wasn't disappointed. The seat is padded well and looks amazing. It fits in the seat securely and snug. I don't have the securement bars under the seat so I use the seatbelt to secure it. Its easy to put in and take out of my car. And size wise, its great. I have a Chevy Tracker. For those of you that don't know those are rediculously small and lacking in leg room. This seat fits well and still gives my daughter leg room without taking to much room from the front passenger. We also have a Yukon, that thing is huge. I only have a hard time outing the seat in the car because I am short and have to climb over the car seat to snap it in. My daughter loves the seat. She sleeps in it well also. She loves the cup holders on it. She puts her snacks in there where I go to take her out of the seat. We also have all kinds of shapes and sizes sippy cups and they fit in there well. I only wish they were a little deeper. Over all the seat is amazing. Its worth every penny I spent on it.

I got this car seat for my 2 year old. She's big for her age so I wanted a harnessed booster seat. This seat is made nicely. She seems to be comfortable in it. The clip and buckle are easy to buckle and unbuckle. (but not too easy) The cup holders are nice and well made unlike some. It's a great product for the price.

I did a lot of research prior to buying this for my 3 year old son. We use it in Grandma and Grandpa's vehicles which there is a lot of back and forth. I thought this might be a problem or hassle but it's worked out really well. Moving a car seat back and forth isn't fun no matter what model or brand you have. It just isn't something you want to do all that often. With this car seat it's been a breeze and the it tightens down pretty easily. Whether you are using the tether strap and buckling it in or simply using the seatbelt in the car and through the back and buckling it, put your knee in to it and tighten it up the best you can. It's a bit bulky but I like it because of the durability and cushioning. My son likes it as well. The back headrest/ pad is a little bit annoying in which it will slide down occasionally but just something you have to deal with. It's not broken or anything, simply moving from movement and wear and tear. The straps loosen and tighten very well and it's not hard to do either. It sits a little more upright than other car seats I've had but my son doesn't complain and it's probably good for his back and alignment that he's not slouching. He doesn't take routine naps in it so I can't give an honest opinion if it's good for long trips (like I said this car seat is in Grandparents vehicles, short trips here and there). I would guess it would be just fine however. My son has fallen asleep in it before with his "blankie" nestled under his chin and side of his head. It's fairly easy to clean compared to others I've had...no different than most this style, easy to pull apart and wash and put back together. I like the colors and the fresh look it has. The best part for me is there's two cup holders and they both have the cloth bands that expand outward. They will hold water bottles such as the BUBBA and Camelback brands. We have both and use both. So anything that diameter or smaller will fit in the cup holders. I can't think of anything else to include in this honest review other than I'm extremely satisfied with the purchase. In fact, for the price and bang for your buck, I might just buy another one so both Grandparents have one...no more transferring back and forth!!!!!
