Love the author’s surname. His book The Shell of a Person reads like fiction. The author has a gift — the ability to make the every day brighter, more real, more entertaining, more meaningful. Some readers will doubt his veracity. I’ve lived in a developing country for 35 years. Sometimes you don’t have to make things up — including the volunteers from all over the world that our author interacts with. And the food. And the toilet facilities. And packing too much and ending up wearing the same thing day after day. I really enjoyed how the author took the book he was reading and inserted passages in his memoir as he goes searching for life’s purpose at a Costa Rican turtle sanctuary. I also laughed out loud at least five times. Not an easy thing for an author to do. Thanks Lance Pototschnik.
