This is a decent tuner for the cost. It does seem to "read" a bit slow, as noted by other reviewers. But patience does pay off in in that regard. I have found that at center tuning (when it should be on pitch) the actual pitch of the string can vary by a few cents either side of zero, which can lead to slight dissonance between certain pitches. The indicator could be a little more accurate in the region around the center. To be fair, I have only used this tuner in chromatic mode. Your mileage may vary, depending on the mode you are using.
My only real complaint about the tuner is that the battery cover vibrates and buzzes. I thought I had a loose tuning machine for a moment, but upon investigation I found that the tuner was causing the buzzing. More accurately, the battery cover on the tuner. I will try cutting a thin piece of foam to stick to the inside of cover and see if that solves the issue.
The issues noted above were almost enough to dock a star, but given the price and convenience I decided to keep it at five stars. I am someone who has been using strobe tuners for years, so I suppose I have a slightly more discriminating ear.

Pro's:
Compact; Easy to use; Looks nice; Can be used in Chromatic mode: Convenient, just clip it on and tune up: Nice backlighting: Uses commonly available CR2032 battery.

Cons:
Seems a bit slow in reading some notes; Center tuning can be a bit tricky; Battery cover vibrates and buzzes (at least on my unit).

Recommendations:
This tuner is a good one to start with, given its price and ease of use. Just clip it on and you are good to go. It will work on virtually any stringed instrument. However, if you do a lot of studio type work, or are sensitive to pitch tuning, you may need to look at other, more pricey, alternatives.
Be aware that this tuner's reference tone is set to A=440Hz. You can not fine tune the reference tone. Not counting this as a con, just stating for those who might need that function.
Will I use this tuner? Yes. It is very handy.
Would I buy another one of these? Maybe...as a gift for someone starting in stringed instruments.

When I received this tuner I liked it's convenient design and small size. I installed the included battery and it worked fine. When I took it out of my instrument case to use it the second time (a few days later), the battery was dead. I thought it might have been shipped with a tired old battery so I bought new batteries (2-pack) and installed one. I turned it on and it worked fine; 'made sure it was turned off and put it away. I got it out again a week later (I know, I know, I don't practice enough... don't judge...) and... dead battery. Installed the 2nd new battery, tuned up, put it away. Next time...you guessed it, 'ate that battery too. So I guess I can use this tuner if I buy another battery and install-then-remove the battery each time I use it but, I gotta' say, that seriously cuts into the convenience-factor that I originally liked about this thing...

I have bought a lot of guitar tuners in the past and this one by far is the best tuner I have every owned. It will tune several instruments as selected by the on/off button. Tells you which string you in tune on and is very accurate! Found this second one to buy on Amazon fortunately, pretty hard to find them on other web sites, including the more popular guitar products sites. I highly recommend you try one of these, you and get them in either red or black body via Amazon!

I purchased this item on March 7, 2016 so I've had it one year.
It worked OK on the first tuning. After that it went downhill fast.
Then the battery lid became very loose so when it acts up, it's difficult to tell if the battery is not making good connection or the internal electronics are poor.
It will light up and then darken. It will come on and then itself turn off. Sometimes when the display dims, I can still see that its working but the read-out is so faint that it's very hard to view.
I've used it maybe 6 times over the past year and today it doesn't work at all. Replaced the battery five times during the past year.
Most of the time, I give up and tune by ear.
It's a very cheap-made flimsy tuner. Today I threw it away and ordered a different tuner Snark SN5X Clip-On Tuner for Guitar, Bass & Violin (Current Model)

Unfortunately, the latest batch of these tuners are total crap. I purchased two of them about 8 months ago and they continue to work very well. Recently I purchased 6 more. All the recent ones have problems. One of them outright failed in less than two weeks. All the others drain their batteries very quickly (in a matter of weeks). We use them very little and we do not leave them powered on.

The merchant was great. When the first one broke I sent it back to Amazon (for a refund) and the merchant sent a new one at no charge. Unfortunately, that new one along with the remaining 5 still have the power leakage problem. I've already run through 5 energizer batteries.

Maybe it's the fact that they all came from one bad batch but I'd stay away from these tuners.

This tuner comes with a battery and I used it a couple of times. When I went to use it a few days later, it no longer worked. I thought I forgot to shut it off so I went out and bought two new batteries. Put a new one in and used it every few days for a couple of weeks and then it stopped working again. I put another battery in and it worked fine. I then thought storing it in my guitar case had jiggled it and possibly loosened the battery causing it to turn on. I then kept it on my table for the next week, where I saw it everyday and it was off. I tried to use it again and it was dead. Not sure if I just got a faulty one but I am throwing this one out and buying a different one entirely.

I got it today, took it out of the box and was like "oh no" because of how small it was (notice: it fits in the palm of my hand) I took that as a sign of low quality because it appears bigger in the photos...but I was wrong!

The is a great tuner! I didn't read the item description fully, so I didn't know it had settings for; ukulele, Bass, violin, and a chromtic setting. That was a pleasant surprise!

Item looks: 3.8

I must admit it looks cheap, but isn't cheaply built. May just be the colour I got (red).

Item build: 4.0

1)It is made of hard plastic
2)The clamp spring feels strong and holds well
3)The kneck of the pivoting head is held in place with nut and bold the head of the tuners is held together with screws. Very good!!

Item Functions: 5.O

1)Pivoting and oscillating head: sort-a-like a household fan
2)Guitar, ukele, Bass, violin, chromtic settings
Simple one button operation. No need to read user manual it's just that simple.
3)Rubber clamp ends to protect instrument.

Was a bit iffy about this as I'm old, cranky, and view new technology (especially "small" technology haha) as evil or stupid. (Not really, I spent 20 years in high tech fields, but I AM old and cranky and when it comes to my musical instruments, I'm all about the good stuff from the past like my awesome, modded ADA MP-1 rack preamp).

Took a few minutes to figure out (most of it trying to figure out how to angle it once I attached it to the bass headstock). Absolutely love this little tuner. Has a good number of settings and works like a champ. Would recommend to anyone!

I have never been able to tune my acoustic guitar. Consequently it was been sitting in the case unused for a long time and I mean a long time. When I decided I wanted to start playing the guitar again I knew I'd need to find a way to tune it myself. So I started looking on line to see what might be available to help me. I decided on the Guitar Tuner Clip On and I love it. Its so easy to use. Although I have an acoustic guitar this tuner can be used for a number of different kinds of guitars and ukes too. I was particularly impressed with the company, who sent me a set of instructions on how to use the tuner by email as soon as the order was received/shipped. I thought the price was reasonable and its just what I needed.

Really like this tuner. My preference in tuners is the inexpensive ones, as the lack of multi-color display doesn't distract the simple quest of tuning up. Much better clamping than usual. Seems to respond to vibrations much quicker also. Have used it on many guitars with the same great, quick results.
