great shoes, i am between sizes with new sizing chart but making them work with thick socks
June 23, 2016
I was looking to switch from Dansko/Sanita pro type shoes to something with more cushion and a little more comfortable and these were suggested by several nurses. I am a nurse and work 12 hr shifts. I like these a lot and find them more comfortable than Dansko, plus they are not as heavy and I am less likely to roll my ankle now! I purchased 38 and have to wear really padded socks (like Thorlos) and added a seude heel insert and they still slide off my heel just a little, but I don't step out of them and they aren't causing blisters. 37 were too short for my toes though although they stayed on heel perfectly. The trick is to look at the right size chart as Alegria has two different ones and the sellers on Amazon don't always list the correct size chart for the right shoe, although it may not matter for some people. I wear a 38 in both, but the 38's in the "NEW" size chart (size 8-8.5) for their newer lines of shoes (like Dayna, Keli, etc.) don't fit quite as well for me with my narrow heels. 38 in "classic" chart (Seville, classic clog, Debra, etc.) is size 7.5-8 and fit a little better since with thick socks I am about an 8. I am providing the link to their site about sizing and how they should fit: [...] If you go to Alegriashoeshop.com and select your shoe and the sizing tab, it tells you which sizing chart should be viewed for that shoe. Also it says to leave 1/4 inch foot bed around your foot (toes and heels shouldn't touch), but with the closed back styles I didn't think they were supposed to be false backs like Danskos so not sure about that advice for every style. I don't have wide feet, but enjoy the roomy toe box.
