My master bedroom is massive and only has 3 vents. It also is the farthest from the central air blower, so it has never felt comfortable in the summer, except during morning hours. I always thought that this was due to the lack of air circulation in my attic, so I bought two solar powered attic fans, two octagon gable vents, and had all of them installed professionally (this whole thing cost me around $1,100), however, I was disappointed to learn that this didn't change anything for the master bedroom. That said, I, at least, was able to pin point that the problem was definitely due to the lack of ventilation in that room.
My options were to either get a professional carpenter (I'm not very handy) cut through the air duct and add one or two vents, or try a fan booster. It was a no brainer to try this once first. And boy, am I happy I did! PROBLEM SOLVED!
I bought this one and another one from Suncourt. I hesitated with regard to this one initially, because the opening seemed small, but these two don't even compare. This one moves a considerable amount of air and it's much quieter. I really didn't notice much difference between the output from my regular vent cover and the Suncourt booster, but the Suncourt is certainty noisier.
I highly recommend this product. I'm just curious to why Home Depot doesn't carry it. The only con it has is the heavy duty electric cord. It's thick and bulky. I wish it was a skinnier cord.
