I needed to be FORCED to cook less--I succeeded by buying this smaller model
March 17, 2016
No longer a large family to cook for. So, even though I have several slow cookers, I bought this one to help FORCE me to cook less. The first time I used this, I was FORCED to remove a few ladles full of soup ingredients at the beginning of cooking. So, yes, this curbed me in. I am effectively cooking for two now--with manageable left-overs.
No bells or whistles on this machine, and that is really just fine and great.
NOTE: I am all for finding the best prices, and I did find less expensive Crockpot models at the Crockpot website. And, I did buy two from there originally. I never got them, and the parent company of Crockpot kept my money for far too long before refunding me. Shipping is a huge hassle on that website, and customer service is as demeaning to the customer as it can possibly get--especially talking to a supervisor. I vow never again to visit that webiste--it is just not worth the hassle. My advice? Buy from Amazon, pay a few dollars more, get superb service if something goes wrong. Spending a few dollars extra at Amazon is worth avoiding the degradation of dealing with some of the nastiest customer service reps and supervisors I've ever run into, and one of the most poorly run shipping departments--at Crockpot.
