this was bought for a Nikon D70 digital camera (yes it is old, but it is a 1000 steps above what I had previously) and it works just fine. I formatted and have taken dozens of shots since I received it, outside in the Nebraska cold. It is 2gb in size (a little less formatted) and is a type 1 CF card. At first I did not know if it would work as it is not in Nikon's approval CF listing, and figured $13 was cheap enough to spend on it to see. And was pleasantly please to see it works.

Pros -
Type 1 (the D70 can handle both Type 1 and Type 2 CF cards)
2GB (1.87GB formatted FAT - the camera's standard format)
Works in a Nikon D70
Not expensive

Cons -
Not as fast as my other CF (SanDisk Extreme IV) but who cares. :) I'm not taking continuous shots.

Well, there you have it, my opinion. This opinion and $20 might buy you coffee some where in the world. :)

Note - Verbatim and I have no agreement nor do I receive free stuff from these folks. My opinion is just that and I reserve the right to bad mouth items that need it.

These are still great although they are the older type of memory cards compared to the SanDisk Ultra 64GB Ultra Micro SDXC UHS-I/Class 10 Card with Adapter, which are much cheaper by the GB, faster, and more compact. However, some of us need to keep using CompactFlash Cards because of the devices that we own. The CompactFlash card provides an easy-to-use removable medium to transfer or continually change its contents on a computer with a card reader. This 2GB Card will hold 36hrs 25mins of mp3 format audio at 128K Sample Rate or 1hr 33mins in WAV Format at 192K Sample Rate. Yeah! Quite a difference! That can mean holding a few audiobooks. Taking up hardly any physical space, these can go a long way in building a listening library.

I use this memory chip in my old Leica Series 1200 GPS base receiver. The original that came with it only holds 256K and the newer ones you can get today go up to 32G but my old Leica will not address anything over about 4G. I have a 4G in my Leica rover and it works fine. This card has enough room to keep all the data I ever collected with this Base station and there is plenty of room for any job I get.

By the way, I am a Land Surveyor - not a camera buff.

Verbatim is a good brand and this was the cheapest of the 2 GB CompactFlash cards offered on Amazon. Works perfectly for the application I purchased it for...use with the 2006-2008 Honda Goldwing GL1800 Navigation System.

It's getting very hard to find this memory format, which is the only format my old digital 8 track can record to. This memory card works great for that purpose.
