Comprehensive yet short, and easily digestible summary of the newest tax law changes from seasoned (but also young and hip) tax professional. This book covers everything you need to know (as a non-CPA) about tax reform, and includes references to specific tax code sections, should you decide to dig deeper. As a small business owner, I highly recommend spending a few hours reading this book, and familiarizing yourself with big and important tax law changes, so that before it’s too late and the end of year (or worse, tax deadline!) is looming, you come prepared with the right questions to ask your CPA. Big thank you to the author for saving me countless hours and helping me learn about the impact of tax reform for my business, quick and frustration-free!
Honestly, you don't need to own exotic beard oils or eat artisanal avocado toast to benefit from this book. It's a well-written summary for anyone that wants to understand the recent tax reform changes. I would say it's probably a must-read for any small business owners who are trying to get a handle on how this will impact their business.
In full disclosure, for the last year, Timur has been both my personal and business accountant, and we choose him precisely because of his breadth of knowledge and his ability to explain complex tax issues to us in a way that we can easily understand. Now hipsters and other humans alike can benefit from Timur's breezy communication style and depth of knowledge of U.S. taxes.
The book was published in exactly right time – recently enacted US tax reform introduced significant changes in taxation rules and regulations and unprofessional tax filers eagerly awaited clear explanations.
The book covers all aspects of new tax laws, but what makes it very useful for me is a chapter on international taxation. As my experience shows, it was always quite a difficult to find a tax professional who is proficient in this area of taxation. But after implementation of the tax reform it became even more challenging to get a professional advice on international taxation. I think that this chapter, even, per author intentions, targeting a layman audience, will be read with a gratitude by the tax professionals.
The book is not only a gateway to the latest tax regulations, but also it is a very convenient source of references to the official IRS documents. I recommend the book to everyone who wants to stay current of US tax reform.
The tax world can very complicated but it takes a gifted and enthusiastic CPA like Timur to make it fun! Timur has a true passion for Taxes and I’m glad he wrote this book because it will help many people get a high-level understanding of the ever changing tax world we live in now. I definitely recommend this for your office mates and even family members that always wonder what you do at work (if you are one of the many bean counters course).
Great and highly informative read. I don't have the time to navigate the complex US tax system on my own or keep up with the most recent tax reform, but this book definitely provided some great insights, clear structure and turned out to be a fun read.
