Comfortable, and comfortably fits the Lenovo Legion Y545

I originally ordered the 15" version of this backpack, but had to return it due to my laptop not fitting into the compartment.
My laptop is a 15.6 inch model, and it measures approx. 14.25 inches x 10.5 inches or 36 cm x 26.5 cm. Diagonally across the closed lid, it measures 17.5 inches or 44 cm. The screen surface itself is 15.6 inches when measured diagonally, which is how manufacturers determine a laptop's advertised size (17" vs. 15.6").
With the 15 inch laptop Kanken, my computer fit perfectly width-wise, but was just a tad too long for the zipper to work. This 17" version of the backpack fits the Lenovo Legion Y545 nicely, with about 1.5 inches of extra room at the top of the laptop compartment.
I was concerned that this backpack would look big on me, considering my height (5'2") but to me it doesn't appear much bigger than my Jansport did. I was able to fit a 1.5 inch textbook, filled 2 inch binder, Ti-83 calculator, 7 x 7 x 2.5 inch lunch container, 8 inch water bottle, 10.5 x 8 inch 100 sheet notebook, and an 8 inch pencil case. This leaves me some extra room at the top to fit snacks or a tightly rolled sweater. So far, I haven't had to make room by removing the foam insert, which is about half an inch thick. The front pocket is a decent size, I put miscellaneous smaller items into it, such as highlighters, earbuds, phone, wallet, coin purse, etc.
The only other pockets are the "water bottle" pouch on the side and the compartment that contains the foam slab. As others have mentioned, it could be difficult to fit a water bottle into the "water bottle" pocket due to its lack of elasticity when the pack is full.
The construction and material feels sturdy, and none of my stuff got wet when I was caught in a downpour for three minutes without an umbrella... Other than that, I can't really attest to the quality of the waterproofing. I have been wiping it down with a slightly wet cloth to keep it free of smudges, because it does get a little dirty during the week (as any backpack would).
I ordered the Deep Forest version and it is a very, very, dark green, which was what I wanted (and was expecting, after looking at the product pictures).
I don't bring my laptop every day, but when I do add in the laptop, the bag's weight is around 12-15 lbs (I weighed it a while ago, and the weight was in that range), and it is more comfortable to carry than my Jansport was.
