I needed a smaller wallet. Putting the entire contents of my economic life into one of the biggest billfolds on earth and then sitting on it 8 or so hours a day (2 hours driving) was getting annoying. This thing is nicely made. The leather is classic and not thin. The ribbon seems sturdy. I have an i.d., 3 credit cards and a key card. I downsized. The money hanger works well enough too. It fits in my front pocket and isn't bulky and awkward looking. I think; I get stared at if I look down at my crotch too long.
First I want to say that nothing is perfect. I've only had this wallet a few days and I do really like it so far. The RFID feature is the main reason I purchased this particular one. I was shopping for an RFID wallet and looked at several reviews and chose this one. For the money this seemed to have the best style and quality coupled with the RFID feature.
What I would change:
1. I like to put my wallet in my front pocket so a small wallet is essential for that. This is a small wallet and it does fit easily in my front pocket but once you out keys or a phone in with it then your pocket will bunch fast. It would help if the wallet could be a little more narrow. That would probably require sacrificing the money clip but I would be fine with that.
2. Give an option with no money clip. I rarely carry cash and when I do I personally prefer for it not to be the first thing people see when I open my wallet. I think this would have allowed them to make it a little more narrow to save space. I was able to remove the money clip very easily so I do like that. There is also a little pocket near where the money clip goes that I can use to put my cash in. I do like that a lot. I included a picture to illustrate.
In summary it would be nice if they had this wallet in a couple of different variations. However, this wallet deserves 5 stars because I knew what I was getting when I bought it so I can't exactly give the company or the wallet a bad review for that. I would definitely recommend this wallet though.
I made this switch to a minimalist type wallet and can’t imagine going back. The last one I had lasted almost a year and I think I put too many cards in it so I am trying out a couple of new options. I also recently got cards that have the rf chip so that is important. This looks great and so far seems like it will hold up well. I have 11 bills in it and 6 cards including access cards and license. I got a carbon fiber looking one for more formal occasions and work and a plain leather one for weekend adventures. I think I may like this better of the two but time may tell. Nice slim card holder, the rf cards won’t scan when in it so I assume that works (not sure how else to check it) and it holds money well.
I want to mention the only negative I have first, so I can spend the rest of the review justifying why I am still using it. It's a little bit big for me. I originally had a minimalist elastic type wallet that was much smaller, but it damaged my cards, which brings me to the beginnings of my positives.
Despite its size (which by the way is the same as an average wallet), it keeps your cards well protected and the RFID is a solid bonus. I have easy access to my most-used card (obviously a CREDIT card) and the idea pocket is a nice change from having to rip it out every single time. I ordered the coffee color, as you can see from the pictures. And while it's not exactly distressed, the color is fairly rustic and seems like a good aesthetic (at least for me). I am not so sure about the money clip yet, but it does make retrieving the money much easier than my previous wallets. I don't use cash much though, so take that portion of my review with a grain of sand (not salt, sand, a little larger consideration than a grain of salt). Overall, I haven't had enough time to truly fall in love with the wallet, but it grows on me the more I use it.
For the price, and the options available, this wallet is a solid addition to your every day carry and can really help with minimizing how much you carry in your wallet, while also allowing you to stuff it with more than you should if the need may arise.
P.S. when it comes to the size of the wallet, know that I wear skinny jeans and this makes it significantly more important to my own preference than someone who wears normal clothes or uses a bag to carry their belongings.
I really do like this wallet, but it has 1 flaw and many positives about it. The positives are that you can add credit cards with and with a super easy thumb to push them up and easy access your cards easily. There is plenty of pockets where you decide what you want to carry around with you in this wallet. But the more you carry, the thicker this wallet will become. So limit what you want in the wallet and it will remain lightweight and thin. For the negative downside of owning this wallet is how you store the bills or papaermoney. There is a clip that holds the paper money in place. It is snjg enough where the bills wont fall out, but it takes some getting used to removing and adding bills back inside this wallet. I was in line to buy a cup of coffee. Gave a $5 bill from my wallet, received 3 singles in change. I had to put my coffee down on a table to reinsert the bills under the clip. If you dont mind doing this, then this wallet is for you, but to some people ,this can be a deterrent. I have used this wallet for 2 days so far and the only problem i see is just putting the bills back in. Otherwise this a is great good looking wallet with plenty of pockets to hold cards, and ID. I would have given 5 starts, but im just being brutally honest for everyone.
To start with, I do not think this is a minimilistic wallet in the actual sense of being super minimilistic (the ones that hold 3-4 cards + 2 bills minimilistic). It's actually like your normal wallet (or rather fits as much) but is atleast half the thickness, 2/3 the length and half the weight. So it does the same job as a normal wallet - but is lighter, smaller and sleeker.
The product otherwise is really good - the material is fabulous (it's genuine leather), the finish is superb and the design is quite stylish. It's something you would not hesitate to remove out while in public.
So if you are looking to move away from your traditional wallet to something lighter and smaller without compromising on holding capacity this is a great product in the below 20 range.
No complaints from my end - exceeded my expectations - 5 stars from me.
great wallet. much slimmer and functional than my old bifold. I needed a replacement due to some scumbag stealing my old one out of my work truck.. was looking for something smaller so I could keep in my pocket while working on jobsites but not be bulky and bothersome while doing manual labor ( yes some people still use their hands to make money). wasn't sure when I purchased if I would like it. but I can say I really like the outside card holder. I use it often with my business card during the day. I no longer have to dig through each pocket wondering where I put it.. it's right there on the outside. I use the inside pockets to store my less used and personal cards.. have never been a big "money clip" kinda guy but I really like how well it keeps the bills in place but easy to access.. One big benefit to this wallet is the clear viewing pocket for my license.. some of this slim wallets didn't have this.. it's good for showing ID when need it. one thing about the "slim" wallet that helps me is that it doesn't store receipts well. this forces me to off load them daily into my expense account folder at the office and I now don't have a wallet stuffed with receipts. has held up well in the heat and sweat of working in the summer. seems to be well made.
Originally had a bifold wallet and reduced down to a money clip wallet from Tumi. Was very hesitant to switch back to a bifold with money clip but I needed more card space than what the Tumi wallet offered. Tumi designs have not been as great as they used to. Anyways after a lot of searching i found this bifold wallet that actually was slightly longer than my current wallet. Fit way more cards and had a thinner footprint! Very surprised at how well i adjusted to using it. The springclip took some getting used to as opposed to a flat clip. But I also learn you can just slide the money in without flipping the springclip. The tension is not adjustable in this springclip but holds strongly that your cash doesnt fall out. Really loving these bifold springclip wallets now, may explore a bifold flat moneyclip next if i get bored!
I was hoping to reduce my wallet thickness so I got this one. Nice wallet but I realized after the purchase that it's not for me so I had to return it. Nothing wrong with the wallet - it's just that I need a lot more than this one can fit. I'm posting this review in case anyone else has the same situation just to help you think through your purchase ahead of time.
At a minimum, I carry:
* driver's license * work credit card * 2 personal credit cards * bank debit card * insurance cards for myself and kids * cash
After putting these items into this wallet, I found that the thickness wasn't that far from my traditional wallet, which had two additional cards that I keep but don't use much. I periodically put other slips into my wallet like a dry cleaning receipt that I need later. You can't do that with this wallet.
I also wasn't a fan of the way the cash flops around in the middle with the clip. It felt too loose and insecure to me. I found that I prefer the tucked away nature of storing cash in the billfold pockets of a traditional wallet.
So, yes this seems like a good wallet if you can manage with minimalist usage. For me, it wasn't a fit - but that maybe just me.
Having had wallets that are always big and clunky, decided to try something different and found this one.
It's not a bad wallet, but being used to a wallet with internal compartments for storing the money, this one is bizarre with a money clip. Still do carry cash just in case of emergencies (nothing worse then having the stores credit card processor down and you don't have paper currency)
Ended up removing the clip and just storing the money instead inside one of the pockets. This seems to be more designed with credit cards/a drivers license in mind vs carrying cash permanently. Never really used a money clip before, so maybe it's more operator error then product error.
Wallet is well made and very elegant otherwise. Over all, a good value for the money if you are used to a design like this, or easily adaptable. Unfortunately this old dog doesn't learn new tricks, so I had to tweak it to my liking instead
