I hardly ever listen to Christmas albums before November, because I know the radio and streaming services will be promoting them for two months, but I'm glad that I bought this cd. It's 11 songs and about 35 minutes long. You can listen to the whole album in one sitting, which is really nice. Lea's voice is stunning and the song choices were excellent. You get a variety: classic ones like “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”, a song from Frozen “Do You Want To Build a Snowman?”, and religious ones like “Angels We Have Heard On High”, which is my favorite. I loved "Christmas in New York" as well. The duets were beautiful and perfectly complimentary to each other. Bravo, Lea! This should become a classic Christmas album like Mariah Carey's.
Absolutely the very best Christmas CD I have ever heard!!! I have a.lot of Christmas CDs but Lea Michele's voice is just so beautiful, and powerful yet gentle...I can't even explain how it makes me feel when I listen to it. It will move you, that's all I can say. Gorgeous!!
I wanted to let shoppers know that this is hands down the best CD if the season. She conveys kind of a New York swag, and a really nice cross section of songs, beautiful orchestrated and Lea’s voice. I found it amusing that two Glee alums show up for duets! I just can’t say enough good things about Christmas In The City. Buy it. You won’t regret it!
This is hands down the BEST Christmas CD i have heard in a Decade. Lea has chosen great tracks and sings them all with Brilliance that only she can do. Christmas In New York is an uplifting Joyous song..perfect for Lea, and O Holy Night..is simply Perfection! I think Lea will be the next Streisand for the new Century..and hopefully without all the Ego and Political opinions! This CD is very enjoyable and Lea stays true to the traditional sounds and gives them new life! Bravo!
Okay I’m not a gleek. I was hesitant buying this cd because it just looks precious. Lea has a fine voice and she’s got jazz hands in that voice so for me this comes off a bit Broadway cheesy and I can picture her postulating at the microphone. The album photo is beautiful and if it suggests a classic album drenched in orchestra you are correct. What made me buy this cd she was being interviewed by Kelly Clarkson and she came off so affable I decided to buy this album. Great voice, most of the songs are Big Band and it makes me want to go to New York to experience the city during the holiday season and I happen to absolutely love cheese.
Those who remember her from Glee will be happy to hear her lush tone on American Christmas Standards, a new Christmas song, and a great take on "Do You Want To Build A Snowman" from Frozen. I played this right along with the best Christmas albums of the past century from: Carpenters, Andy Williams, Nat "King" Cole, Bing Crosby, Johnny Mathis, et. al.
