Quickbooks Desktop is clearly feature-rich accounting software. The program is clearly very capable and is worth an easy 4 or 5 stars based on functionality alone. Where it falls short, however, is its complete lack of a user manual or other form of user-friendly instruction. I have an accounting background, and while that is useful, it is of no help getting acquainted with how to complete the most basic tasks such as entering customer information, writing (and customizing!) invoices, recording various transactions, etc. With the Desktop version, your options appear to be: 1) fumble around in the dark, 2) watch Intuit's video tutorials tailored specifically to the Online version, or 3) pay $$$ for classroom/interactive webinar instruction. Yes, there are some articles dealing with specific issues on the QB support website and a community of expert users where you can ask questions. But software this expensive should come with a dedicated user manual or its own video tutorials covering the basics at the very least. No matter how capable the software is, an overall 3-star rating is very generous, considering the steep learning curve made unnecessarily worse by Intuit's total lack of consideration for new users.
We want to make sure you're comfortable using QuickBooks so we offer multiple resources to help you become more familiar with navigating our software.
