Does what RAM does.

You can get by with 8gb of RAM. 16gb if you want to be futureproof.
Edit: You do not want a kit of 8gb of RAM if you are planning to use an iGPU (like with the Ryzen 3400G). Because the iGPU has zero VRAM and needs to draw 2gb from your RAM. This means that for something like a Ryzen 3400G, you will only have 6gb of RAM, and this is not good.
8gb of RAM is already on the low side albeit fine, but 6gb is not fine. I purchased new 16gb of RAM, plugged them in, and I was having 10+ more fps on almost every game. I was quite shocked.
Conclusion: If your graphics card has some VRAM, then 8gb isn't that bad for now. But if you're using an iGPU like I am, then you'll need more than 8gb.
