Top critical review
Nope. Buy something else. Not worth it.

I'm pretty unhappy with this purchase. The reviews were decent and I didn't want to be cheap so I bought a sharpener that was reasonably priced. Let's break down all the flaws with this thing.
- the sharpener has varying "depths" as settings on the side. I assumed that would determine the number of revolutions the sharpener went around. Nope. Not sure what it does.. or maybe mine was broken I don't know.
- I was expecting a sharpener to require the input of the user to determine when it started/stopped. This one goes around once and then you have to pull out the pencil and start again. To resharpen a dull pencil that's not too big of a pain, but to sharpen a new pencil.. it took like 10-15 times taking it in and out of the sharpener just to get a decent (not even sharp) sharpen.
- The discard tray is extremely messy. I couldn't figure out how to empty it at first, I expected it to pull out nicely. Nope. The container just flips off of both sides. So if you don't open it completely over the trash can it gets EVERYWHERE.
I completed the above tests while the unit was plugged into electrical. It looks like it has a battery slot, but if it operates this poorly with electrical I would assume it's equally or more frustrating with batteries.
There's also a reverse button under the sharpener, I assume so if something gets jammed you can release it? My button did nothing.
It gets 2 stars because it functions. But it's going back.
So you can see how ridiculous this is. To have to keep lifting up the pencil and put it back in for it to trigger the sharpener. It took 1 minute to sharpen a new pencil.
