I highly enjoyed the entire series. It is written as a series of almost diary-like entries were made by the principles and their companions, with witty asides from time to time. All this was supposed to have been discovered as a series of parchments. This style makes the story rather immediate. I have no idea as to whether the terms used (like "gobble French" for "speaking French" are historically correct, but they are certainly entertaining and I kind of hope they are authentic. The book plots flow nicely well and characters are well developed. I look forward to reading more of Archer's work.
