the mini camera
May 3, 2019
This mini DV camera came with a small camera head that measures 2.9 cm or 1-1/8” in diameter. It came with a counting piece and a clip so that this tiny camera may be mounted on a wall, placed on a flat surface, or clipped on something. It is extremely easy to set it up. The video recording comes in 1280 x 720 PHD or 1920 x 1080 HD at 30 frames per second. The video recordings are in AVI format. So, some old version media players may need to be updated to play back these video files. A video frame may be captured and blown up to see more details. Once fully charged, the recording length is about an hour. It is supplied with a Mini 8 pin USB cable to communicate with a computer for playing back.
The still pictures are 12 MP in resolution and JPG format. The images are in the 16:9 ratio. Due to the small lens, one should not expect to see the very fine details of a similar MP picture from a real digital camera. Windows XP also supports this camera.
A memory card is not supplied. I bought a SanDisk 32 GB microSDHC UHS-1 card with a speed up to 98 MB/s at Walmart for less than $8.00. 32 GB card is as large as it supports.
Its operation is simple and easy. It can take video at two resolutions, still pictures, night vision and motion detection recordings, very versatile. If one wanted to switch among the various modes of recording, it may take a bit practice to remember all of the procedures and sequences, which are really easy.
