Gregg has written a fun easy-reading memoir that finds a good balance between light-hearted and serious. His book made me realize that everyone has fascinating stories to tell, but it takes a talented, intelligent and hard-working person to be able to write them well. Hats off to the man with the hat.
Always wondered what it would be like to become minimal and work on a cruise ship. Now I know.. Looks like fun. This guy sounds like a guy you wouldn’t mind having a beer with, on a boat, at a bar, with a piano.. fun read, I read “Cruise Confidential” and ehh .. but this one seems much more real. Also swerves into music insight, which I enjoyed. Try it.
I enjoyed reading about your journey from how you met your beautiful wife, Kathy at age 11 to your current dream come true as a piano dude on a cruise ship! What an inspiration to follow your passion for music, writing and relationships.
What a great book. Very entertaining and informative. The chapter about getting naked with the Chieftains was very interesting. Night time swimming sounds like fun. The chapter about a cruise ship is fantastic. Cannot wait till more people get to be entertained by this wonderful book.
On the plus side I could identify with the author by going through the same knuckle rapping routine as he did in his youth. Unfortunately I didn't stick to it like Gregg did, so now I relive my dreams of being a skilled musician through his excellent book. Give this one a read, you won't be disappointed. Now, on to his other books!
