Fascinating novelized page-turning account of desert warfare and Cairo highlife

German spies, broken US codes, the Desert Fox, the British SAS, raids behind German lines, and fascinating insights into a conflict that marked the start of US troops in action against Germany. War along the northern border of Africa, on the Mediterranean, and occasional forays into desert wastelands as modern armies fought for total control. Very well written, great characters, tight action based on war records, and an intriguing time when the rich and famous lived in luxury while men were fighting to the death only a few hundred miles away. Well worth the time.
